K9 NOSE WORK® LEVEL2 PRACTICE MATCH

Please note the following with regard to our philosophy about the purpose of a match. verses trials:A Trial is a test. A match is not. Nor is it a coaching session. We want you and your dog to experience success and for it to be fun, and a good learning experience for you. To that end, you can expect the following:

  • If your dog has not found all the hides at the 30 second call, we will tell you the general area to search for one hide.
  • You will receive a score sheet that states the overall time + the time to first hide, 2nd hide if there is one, and time toyour ‘finish’ call.
  • The general rules of NW2 will be followed.

REGISTRATION PROCEEDURES-FORM

Registrations will be acceptedon a first come first served basis. EXCEPTION: Priority will be given to entrants that are willing to volunteer a minimum of half a day on the day that they are not running their dog.

Availability of second dog/second run entries will be announced if there are spots available after the first round of notifications go out. Hides will not change, so if you run a second dog on the same day, you will need to choose which dog you run blind.

The first round of notifications for Saturday will be sent out around the end of April. No refunds. You can transfer your spot to someone who is not already entered or wants to run a 2nd dog. You need to get me all contact info requested on this form and have the fill in person pay you directly. They will not be allowed to run if I don’t have their info.

LODGING OPTION: There are 6 motel style rooms available that have one double bed. They are available for 2 night stays only [Fri and Sat] and will be $130 for the two nights. Max of two people per room.Your room will be checked when you vacate and may be subject to a cleaning fee if it is found to be hairy or excessively dirty due to housing dogs. If you intend to have your dog on your bed, bring a bed cover. If you’re crating your dog, bring something to put under the crate.

Judges: Advanced students and CNWI’s may apply to be “judges” each day.They may run their dogs at no charge. Judging is an awesome opportunity to watch dogs search, and handlers handle. You will be scoring finds and faults but no comments will be allowed either written or verbal. This is not a coaching match. Email Joyce with ‘judge match’ in the subject line if you’re interested. You should still register your dog for the match, we will shred your check if you are chosen to judge.
