S6 v Teacher Football Match Just to remind all pupils and staff that the S6 vs teachers football match will be on Thursday 27th October. Kick off is at 4pm, all are welcome to come down and watch in the Astro.
Debating ClubCome and join our fabulous debating club (which is expanding every week!). Next week sees us preparing for our Trump VS Clinton extravaganza! Look out for other Trump VS Clinton events (like Speaker’s Corner on Friday 4th November) before the big election on 8th November! Open to everyone – a club run ‘by the people, for the people’! Switch off Fortnight From the 14th to the 27th of November we are asking the school to take part in the switch off fortnight. This allows the schools energy usage to be lowered and will help us towards achieving our green flag because it is part of our energy topic. During these 2 weeks surveys will be taken of the classrooms to see what electrical appliances have been left on or off. Thank you from the Eco Committee.
Hockey Club: Club will begin again on Tuesday 1st of November 3.30pm-4.30pm on the astro. Any new members welcome! Special shout out to any new S1’s that would like to come along and try hockey- no previous experience needed- just come along with your friends. Speaker’s Corner We have a packed programme ahead for Fridays in Speaker’s Corner.
This week, please support S6 pupils Kate Dryburgh and Sarah McCafferty, who will be sharing their experience of Cutting Our Hair For The Little Princess Trust. We are looking forward to Ms O’Reilly and some of her pupils next week, with their Trump VS Clinton exciting event before the big election on 8th November. Future talks include Acting, Plane Wars and Chernobyl Children. Speaker’s Corner is open to everyone, so if you fancy a spot, please let Mrs Toonen know.
Shivers, scares and stories – Halloween Special Session A special spooky story session will be held in the library this Halloween at lunchtime, with tales of ghosts, haunted houses and real-life scary tales. Please come to the library on Monday at lunchtime to share tales of things that go bump in the night. There may be one or two surprises, so don’t miss this opportunity to shiver. Literally.

S1- Whales and Dolphins Trip All pupils in Mrs Burpitt’s and Ms Still’s Whales and dolphins S1 elective should report to the canteen straight after registration on Wednesday 26th October. Remember to take warm waterproof jackets and a pack lunch.

ATTENTION: All Higher Geography and Biology students- This is a note to remind you that you are attending a fieldtrip to Pitgaveny Farm on Tuesday 1st of November from period 1-4. You will return to school during lunchtime.Meet in the canteen after registration. You must dress appropriately for the outdoors (eg. wellies or walking boots) and for any weather conditions you may experience (eg. waterproofs, hats and gloves). You should bring along a packed lunch as we will not be back to school in time for canteen lunch/tesco trips. You will return to period 5 and 6 classes as normal. National 5 and Higher Art pupils:Study sessions will be available on Tuesday and Wednesday lunchtimes for the whole of term 2 in room B30 (Mrs Templeton). This is to support the completion of all unit written work. Please bring your lunch with you.
Making it into Medicine - On Saturday 29th October Gordonstoun are hosting Medic Mentors who will be delivering two talks to students; lecture taking place in the morning and a Masterclass after lunch. The first of these is open to students from S4-S6, the masterclass for just S5&S6. Each lecture costs £25 to attend. More info can be found on .
