Each event includes (as available) date, time, location, and cost information. Wednesdays feature kid-friendly activites, Fridays are full of arts and crafts, and kids can explore Kidscape every day.

Go on a StoryWalk

Storywalk consists of a series of panel signs that provide an interactive reading experience for children and their parents or caregivers. Each station contains two pages from a popular children’s book with a suggested activity or action rhyme. Storywalk is located along a walkway adjacent to the Dodge Town and children’s playgrounds in Antioch Park, 6501 Antioch, Merriam.

Discover something in MakerSpace

Learn new skills and software, make cool stuff, and customize your world. Use the space to play, tinker, and experiment with media, design, and electronics in an open and collaborative environment. There are no age limits here! A 10 year old can teach classes and a 70 year old can play with toys.

Go on an Emergency Kit Scavenger Hunt

Prepare for severe weather by turning it into a game! Check out our Pinterest board for ideas of what to include.

Mahaffie Stage Coach Stop & Farm Historic Site

On Wednesdays and Thursdays in June and July kids can enjoy a different history theme each week with lots of hands-on activities, crafts and a stagecoach ride. Family Fun Nights each Thursday in June and July feature a different theme of history.

Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead

Go for a special event like Dairy Day or Georgia's Chicken Run or just drop in for a visit.

Legler Barn Museum

The museum houses the history of the city of Lenexa in spaces once filled with livestock. Displays include a Conestoga wagon, the Strang Line Waiting Station, and the Frisco Train Depot.

Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens

Explore the hiking trails or participate in one of the many classes and programs. The first three Wednesday evenings in June feature Music in the Gardens.

Music in the Park

Bring your family. Bring a picnic. Bring a chair. Even the family (leashed) dog is welcome.Music in the Park is offered each Sunday, beginning in July, 7-8:30 p.m., at Santa Fe Commons Park.
