NHS Health Checks!
Mytime Active provides free NHS Health Checks within the community/ workplace for individuals aged between 40 – 74 who live, work or have a GP in Sandwell.
Why the NHS Health Check?
Risk: The check aims to identify risk of developing conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease, stroke and dementia – helping to keep your workforce healthy.
Time-saving: The short 30-minute appointments can be carried out on site, reducing the need for your colleagues to take time away from work.
Comprehensive: The check is comprehensive and includes questions and measurements including lifestyle, family history, blood pressure and cholesterol test.
Availability: We offer screening 7 days per week, we can book months in advance as well as the potential for short-notice bookings.
We are short of space…
We can use a small meeting room for the appointments, however if space is a problem we can provide the use of a mobile unit so that appointments can take place in an outdoor venue, such as a car park.
What’s in it for us? Introducing ‘Finder’s Fees’
Sandwell workplaces can apply for our ‘finder’s fee’ whereby we offer a payment of £5.00 per eligible individual who completes their NHS Health Check. This is an ideal opportunity for the booking process to be carried out in-house, however we can offer drop-in appointments if necessary.
Who is eligible?
To be eligible for the NHS Health Check individuals must be able to meet all of the criteria below. Some of your colleagues may already have certain conditions or may have already had the check within the last 5 years which will mean they are not eligible – this is because the NHS Health Check is a national preventative programme. We may be able to provide screening for non-eligible individuals depending on numbers, please contact me to discuss further.
What about my colleagues who want other services?
Mytime Active also offer a Lifestyle Service aimed at individuals who live in Sandwell or have a GP in Sandwell who want to lose weight or get more active. This service is accessible across the Sandwell borough. We can also signpost your colleagues to other services in Sandwell via Sandwell Healthy Lifestyle Services, provided by Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council.

I am aged 40 – 74I live OR work OR have a GP in Sandwell
I have not already had a Health Check to assess my Heart Disease risk in the last 5 years
I have not had a stroke or ‘mini’ stroke
I do not have angina or an irregular heartbeat
I have not had a heart attack or heart failure
I do not take medication for high cholesterol
I do not have familial hypercholesterolemia (high cholesterol)
I do not have Coronary Heart Disease (CHD)
I do not have atrial fibrillation
I do not have kidney disease
I do not have Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD)
I do not take medication for high Blood Pressure
I do not have Diabetes
I am not receiving palliative care treatment
