JIM WALLACE: graduated from T.C.H.S. in 1961 and from Murray State in 1965.

RAY MAGGARD: played at Lexington Henry Clay (graduated 1966); played at Eastern Washington Univ. for 3 years; head coach four years at Pineville, four years at Morgan County, 7 years at Trigg County (77-108), then Daviess County for 7 years (65-112 record.) When his son graduated (& signed with Eastern Ky.), Ray resigned. He was an assistant for two years...then head coach for one year (1996) at Muhlenberg North. Head coach at Logan County three years (1997-99.)

BILL CHUMBLER: graduated from Lowes H.S. in Graves County 1963; played at Mississippi State for 2 years and for Cal Luther at Murray for 2 years. Head coach 4 years at old Century H.S. and then 21 years at Cairo...both in Illinois. When Cairo temporarily dropped athletics, he went to Paducah. Won his 500th game midway through the ‘94-95 season at Paducah. Told me he set the record for most points in a game at the L.I.T. as a junior. After 8 years at Paducah, moved to Trigg County for four years...then retired.

April 23, 2006 (in the Lexington Herold-Leader) After 36 years as a head coach, Bill Chumbler is retiring from high school hoops. "I'm 60 years old and just thought it was time," he said. Chumbler got his first taste of basketball when he was 6 and a ball boy for his dad, who coached at Farmington High and whose players included future UK star Adrian Smith. Chumbler said he was an All-State player at Lowes High and went on to play at Mississippi State and Murray State. He coached high school basketball at Century, Ill., Cairo, Ill., Paducah Tilghman and Trigg County. He led Tilghman to a state runner-up finish in 2002 and to the state semifinals in 1999. His overall record was 780-290.
