Incoming Grade 7 Summer Work Packet

DMS Mathematics Department 2015-2016

Dear Incoming Grade 7 Math Students,

To better prepare for your Grade 7 Mathematics and Geometry Courses, summer work is assigned to ensure an easier transition into math next Fall and to keep your math mind sharp over the summer. The expectation is that all students bring the completed assignment to their first math class in the Fall 2015. The idea is to do the packet throughout the summer, not complete it all in June or during the last few days of August.

There are 50 questions in all - therefore, we recommend that students complete about 10 problems per week starting the week of July 13th.

If you needhelp completing the problems, you have a couple of options:

  • Use the links at the end of the packet to access resources and instructional videos
  • Use the copy of the textbooks available at the Duxbury Free Library.

Please keep in mind that all problems are non-calculator problems, and need to be completed without the use of any type of calculator. All answers must be justified by showing all work.
