Expectations:
- Be respectful: You are expected to be respectful of your peers, your teacher, and your building.

- Be prepared: You are expected to be on time, bring your supplies, and complete all homework before class.
Grading (subject to change):
- Summative Assessments (Chapter Tests) are worth 80% of your overall quarter grade. If at least 90% of assigned work for the chapter has been completed, a retest may be given as outlined by retake policy.
- Formative Assessments (Quizzes and all other associated work) are worth 20% of your quarter grade.
- Participation: Active participation is essential to your success in mathematics.
- Grading Scale: 90-100% (A), 80-90% (B), 70-80% (C), 60-70% (D), below 60% (F).
- Semester grades go onto your permanent record. Your grade will be the result of averaging the two quarter grades (at 45% each) and the semester exam grade (10%). Semester exams will take place December 14-21!
- ESE and ELL accommodations will be addressed within the classroom.
Attendance:
Students will be expected to follow the attendance guidelines at Creekside High School.
- Students are to be in their seats, ready to begin when the tone sounds. A student who reaches 3 tardies will be referred to Dean.
- Keep absences (of any kind) to a minimum! District policies will be followed for unexcused absences. You are expected to ask for make-up work in advance for pre-excused absences such as field trips, sports, and vacations. You will be expected to take tests, quizzes, etc. with the class upon return unless prearranged.
- If a student is absent the day of a test, they will take the retest in lieu of the test.
Obstacles to Success:
Students get into trouble in this class primarily because of
- Too many absences
- Homework not completed and up to date
- Not coming in for extra help
