LIARS

Donald R. Fox

Liars are all around us. The average politician will smile and lie without a conscious twinge. Lying has become a natural vocation for too many. Along with the lies, embellishment of a portion of truth is common for many. President Clinton is a notorious liar. Looking straight into television cameras, he perjured himself under oath. To this date, he smiles away in great popularity. His words carry enormous influence. If you or I would have lied under oath, I guess we still would be in jail. Pun intended. Strange, is it not? It seems that citizens expect government leaders to be liars. They get voted into office because of their political party. It must be a religion of political party affiliation that allows such rascals to gain high governmental offices. Shameful!

There are forms of such dishonesty. Let us note a few examples, plagiarizing; the wrongful use of someone’s written works is a lie. People who masquerade as a soldier and deceive others that they are heroes. It is now known as “stolen honor," all are reprehensible liars. Additionally, the constant propaganda of the news media is nerve racking to us average citizens. It is almost impossible to get truthful reporting of the news. Summarizing, all this comes to pass when we, as a nation, have lost our guide as a God-fearing nation. When we lose our God guiding compass, we have lost our way. Sadly, many have forgotten or rejected the truth and have turned to liars. “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6 KJV)
