Did you know there is another option if you need to be seen by a practitioner quickly but don’t want the costs of an Urgent Care Center or ER? QuickCare Clinics, also called Minute Clinics or FastCare Clinics, are conveniently located inside chain stores or hospitals and you can drop in without scheduling an appointment prior to the visit. QuickCare Clinic hours vary by location, but most are open late during the week and also on the weekends. Below is a list of some common QuickCare Clinics and what conditions they can evaluate, diagnose, and treat.
Aurora QuickCare:
Aurora QuickCare is a way to get a common health concern diagnosed and treated by a nurse practitioner or physician assistant. For a $70 visit fee you can be seen for the following: bronchitis, strep throat, influenza, ear infection, sinus infection, pink eye, mononucleosis, seasonal allergies, poison ivy, insect sting, wart removal, minor rashes and more. CVS Minute Clinic:
MinuteClinic are staffed by nurse practitioners and physician assistants who specialize in family health care for both children and adults. They treat: minor illnesses, minor injuries, skin conditions, wellness & physicals, screenings & monitoring, vaccinations & injections, labs and tests. Froedtert FastCare (Sussex Meijer):
FastCare is affiliated with Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin and is eastern Wisconsin’s only academic medical center. You and your family will receive care from an experienced Medical College of Wisconsin physician assistant or nurse practitioner. Lab tests are also available for certain conditions, and provide immediate results.

Froedtert also offers other walk-in clinics to treat conditions like: bronchitis, colds & flu, earache, minor burns, skin rash, simple lacerations, sinus infection, sore throat, sprains, strains & bruises and urinary problems.

Walgreens:
These clinics are staffed by family nurse practitioners who treat patients 18 months and older for common illnesses such as: strep throat, ear, sinus and bladder infections, pink eye, poison ivy; as well as vaccinations and sports physicals. The nurses also collaborate with local physicians for consultation. Additionally, they are licensed to write prescriptions for ailments they treat.
Walgreens clinics accept many commercial insurance plans as well as Medicare (you should check with these clinics directly to see if your health insurance is accepted). However, you can also obtain services without health insurance. The cost is approximately $90.
