Plant Conservation Genetics Workshop

California Native Plant Society 2012 Conference

Funds will be provided for a minimum of 10 participants to attend the workshop. Funding will cover all registration fees and support for travel, food, and lodging costs (max $500). Applicants will need to provide an estimate of how much funding they require, not including registration. All awardees will need to retain all of their receipts for expenses and submit them for reimbursement after the workshop.

What are your interests in plant conservation?

What do you hope to learn at the conservation genetics workshop and how would you apply this information?

Please provide a detailed estimate of travel, food, lodging expenses, and a statement of financial need. We will cover expenses associated with attending the workshop on January 9-12. Expenses will be covered at the following rates: Meals, $36 per day; Lodging up to $150 per night, including taxes (we encourage participants to stay at the conference hotel which is ~$141 per night, including taxes); Mileage $0.37 per mile for a personal vehicle; Airfare, Taxi, Shuttles, and Parking at any reasonable amount with receipt. If you are flying to San Diego, we cannot cover the costs of a rental car. Additional details on reimbursement rules and regulations will be provided to all awardees.

Applications will be judged based on two general criteria:

1)  An individuals’ involvement in plant conservation activities and the likelihood that this workshop would aid in the management and conservation of plants.

2)  Financial need, with a focus on land managers (state, federal, private) that would not be able to participate in this workshop without financial support.
