RECOMBINANT HRP2 PROTEINS
Confidentiality: public

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Microcoat Biotechnologie GmbH and FIND have worked in cooperation to develop three histidine-rich proteins (HRP2, types A, B and C), expressed as recombinant proteins in a heterologous system. These proteins are commercially available as stabilized and standardized reference materials for researchers, diagnostics developers and users of malaria rapid diagnostic tests.
The proteins can be used for evaluating the performance of malaria rapid diagnostic tests in quality control programmes and for the calibration of HRP2 detection assays.
To purchase any of the three available HRP2 proteins (Types A, B or C), please fill out this form and sent it to Xavier Ding, FIND at . You will then be contacted by Microcoat GmbH to finalize the purchase procedure.

PURIFIED RECOMBINANT HRP2 PROTEINS

This standard is based on the Histidine-rich protein 2 (HRP2) from Plasmodium falciparum strains. The proteins are fused to a Glutathione-S-transferase (GST)-tag and produced recombinantly in a heterologous expression system. The protein have been purified via affinity chromatography.
The preparation contains material of human origin, and the source materials have been tested and are non-reactive for HIV-1/ HCV/ HBV by NAT, HBsAg, HCV Ab, HIV 1&2 Ab, and RPR by currently approved FDA methods.
As with all materials of biological origin, this preparation should be regarded as potentially hazardous to health. It should be used and discarded according to your own laboratory’s safety procedures. Such procedures should include wearing of protective gloves and avoiding the generation of aerosols.
The intended use of these biological reference materials are for evaluating the performance of marketed malaria rapid diagnostic tests in quality control and for calibration as well as development of HRP2-detecting assays.
Exact protein quantity per aliquot is lot-specific and indicated on the aliquot label. The price per aliquot is 200.00 euros (excluding shipping charges).
A standard operating procedure for the use of these reference materials with the HRP2 ELISA assay produced by Cellabs (“Malaria Antigen (HRP2) CELISA”Cat. No. KM2) is available on FIND’s website, here.
