Warranties

1.5 WARRANTY - MANUFACTURER/SUPPLIER

Provide a material manufacturer/supplier warranty:

5 years For materials

- Provide this warranty on Partitioning Supplies (NZ) Limited standard form.

- Commence the warranty from the date of practical completion.

Refer to the general section 1237 WARRANTIES for additional requirements.

1.6 WARRANTY - INSTALLER/APPLICATOR

Provide an installer/applicator warranty:

1 year For execution

- Provide this warranty on the installer/applicator standard form.

- Commence the warranty from the date of practical completion of the contract works.

Requirements

1.7 NO SUBSTITUTIONS

Substitutions are not permitted to any specified system, or associated components and products.

1.8 QUALIFICATIONS

Use only workers/installers skilled and experienced in the building system specified. Provide evidence of experience, listing completed projects of similar size and complexity.

1.9 SHOP DRAWINGS

Provide shop drawings for review. Shop drawings to show, but not be limited to:

- Plans of each floor showing all essential elements and dimensions.

- Elevations of all partitions indicating type, individual materials and finishes.

- Details of all junctions within the partitioning system and between the partitions and surrounding elements.

- Details of all fixing methods and systems.

- Confirmation of all required fire and acoustic ratings, including associated baffles to ceiling/floor spaces.

- All associated services.

- All hardware and accessories.

Refer to the general section 1235 SHOP DRAWINGS for the requirements for submission and review and the provision of final shop drawings.

1.10 SAMPLES

Erect a sample section of the partition system. Subject to confirmation in writing, the sample section may form part of the completed installation.

Performance

1.11 LOADING CODE REQUIREMENT

To AS/NZS 1170.1, NZS 1170.5, AS/NZS 4600, NZS 4219, NZS 3404.1.

1.12 LOAD-CARRYING MEMBERS

Select sections that will satisfy the transverse, dead and live load requirements by complying with the manufacturer's design data. To AS/NZS 1170.1.

1.13 FIRE RATING REQUIREMENT

NZBC C/AS1-AS7, C5.1 Fire resistance. Refer to appropriate lining board manufacturer's technical literature for detailed instructions on installation of fire-rated drywall systems.

1.14 ACOUSTIC REQUIREMENT

To ISO 140.4. Include all openings and penetrations and ensure absence of adjoining flanking paths. Refer to appropriate lining board manufacturer's technical literature for detailed instructions on installation of acoustic drywall systems for noise transmission reduction.

1.15 CERTIFICATION

Provide certificates and other evidence that the system complies with the fire and acoustic standards of performance specified.

2. PRODUCTS

Materials

2.1 SEISMIC PARTITION TIE - TRACKLOK™

Internal partition bracing system incorporating Tracklok™ seismic partition ties (steel and rubber components) with steel studs (used as angled bracing), to brace the partition ceiling level section to the underside of the floor above. Designed, to avoid ceiling grid interaction and absorb seismic energy, reducing partition wall failure.

2.2 ALUMINIUM ALLOY

Alloy designation to comply with AS/NZS 1866. Aluminium sections branded and extruded for anodising or powder coating.

2.3 ALUMINIUM FRAMED PARTITIONS - ALEMENT 64 SYSTEM

An internal partition system for 64 mm steel studs to incorporate one layer of 13 mm gypsum plasterboard each side. Includes flush wall section options, door frame sections (complete with woolpile stripping), pocket glazing sections (complete with glazing gaskets) and snap fix componentry. Compatible with a range of sections from other Alement systems as required. Refer to SELECTIONS.

2.4 ALUMINIUM FRAMED PARTITIONS - ALEMENT 92 SYSTEM

An internal partition system for 92 mm steel studs to incorporate one layer of 13 mm gypsum plasterboard each side, or 64 mm steel studs to incorporate two layers of 13 mm gypsum plasterboard each side. Includes flush wall section options, door frame sections (complete with woolpile stripping), pocket glazing sections (complete with glazing gaskets) and snap fix componentry. Compatible with a range of sections from other Alement systems as required. Refer to SELECTIONS.

2.5 ALUMINIUM FRAMED PARTITIONS - ALEMENT DESIGNLINE SYSTEM

An internal partition system for 64 and 92 mm steel studs to incorporate 13 mm gypsum plasterboard with options available for 10 mm and 18 mm thick linings. Includes flush wall section options, door frame sections (complete with woolpile stripping), pocket glazing sections (complete with glazing gaskets) and snap fix componentry. Compatible with a range of sections from other Alement systems as required. Refer to SELECTIONS.

2.6 ALUMINIUM FRAMED PARTITIONS - ALEMENT PLUS SERIES

An internal partition system for 64 and 92 mm steel studs to provide negative edge detailing options. Includes negative edge flush wall section options (for 13 mm gypsum plasterboard), door frame sections (complete with woolpile stripping), pocket glazing sections (complete with glazing gaskets) and snap fix componentry. Compatible with a range of sections from other Alement systems as required. Refer to SELECTIONS.

2.7 ALUMINIUM FRAMED PARTITIONS - ALEMENT MULTI LAYER SYSTEM

An internal partition system for 64 and 92 mm steel studs, to provide multiple 13 mm gypsum layer combination options to each side of the stud. Includes flush wall section options, door frame sections (complete with woolpile stripping), pocket glazing sections (complete with glazing gaskets) and snap fix componentry. Compatible with a range of sections from other Alement systems as required. Refer to SELECTIONS.

2.8 ALUMINIUM FRAMED DOOR LEAF - ALEMENT DOOR RANGE

A range of top rail, bottom rail, transom and stile sections for glazed door leaf framing. For fabrication of hinged, pivot and sliding doors. Compatible with Alement partition systems.

2.9 SLIDING DOOR SYSTEM - ALEMENT SLIDING DOOR RANGE

A range of tracks, rollers, guides, pickups and pelmets for sliding door leafs. Compatible with Alement partition systems and the Alement door range. Refer to SELECTIONS.

2.10 ALUMINIUM TRIMS, BEADS & SKIRTINGS - ALEMENT TRIMS & BEADS

Aluminium sections to compliment the Alement systems including skirting profiles, Shadowline bead and negative detailing trims and beads. Refer to SELECTIONS

2.11 ALUMINIUM TRUNKING - ALEMENT UNIPOWER TRUNKING

A range of aluminium trunking sections, including a Cat 6 option. Refer to SELECTIONS.

2.12 STEEL FRAMING

Steel Stud and Track, manufactured in New Zealand to AS/NZS 4600, Supplied by Partitioning Supplies (NZ) Limited. Consists of studs, track, nogs and opening trims cold rolled from zinc coated steel strip to AS 1397, Grade G22275, with a minimum yield strength of 275 Mpa. Stud webs to have pre-punched coined holes for services. Refer to SELECTIONS for type and size.

2.18 GLAZING GASKETS

Thermoplastic rubber.

2.19 SETTING BLOCKS

Neoprene 80-90 Shore hardness, set at quarter points. All to comply with NZS 4223.1, section 105.6.

2.21 ACOUSTIC HEADSECTION SEALS

Inseal PVC water seal (3529) or similar, positioned to length of headsection rebates. Refer to SELECTIONS.

3. EXECUTION

Conditions

3.1 DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING

Take delivery of materials and goods and store on site and protect from damage.
Protect finished surfaces, edges and corners from damage. Move/handle goods in accordance with manufacturer's requirements. Reject and replace goods that are damaged or will not provide the required finish.

3.2 PRE-INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS

Check work previously carried out and confirm it is of the required standard for this part of the work.

3.3 ADJOINING SURFACES

Do not commence work until the adjoining structure and / or surfaces are of a standard required by the manufacturer for the specified installation, plumb, level and in true alignment.

3.4 SETTING OUT

Set out the framing work true to line and square, before starting erection.

3.5 PROTECT

Protect surfaces, cabinetwork, fittings, equipment and finishes already in place from the possibility of damage during the building process.

3.6 SPECIAL PROTECTION OF CARPET

Provide protection to carpet to prevent contamination with swarf and other debris, including hot filings.

Installation - steel framing

3.7 INSTALL STUD AND TRACK SECTIONS

Install stud and track sections in accordance with Partitioning Supplies (NZ) Limited requirements.

Fix, erect and fit to finish rigid, plumb, square and true to line and face.

3.8 NOGGING

Screw or crimp nogging to both flanges of the studs where required to Partitioning Supplies (NZ) Limited requirements. Confirm with manufacturer that individual nogging may be cut from continuous lengths.

3.9 DRILLING TO STEEL FRAMING

Drill to stud framing systems installation instructions. Where extra service holes are required position them using a hole saw or similar and fit grommets. Locate additional service holes as close as practical to the centreline of the stud.

Installation - aluminium framed partitions

3.10 INSTALL PARTITIONS

Install partitions in accordance with Partitioning Supplies (NZ) Limited requirements.

Set out true to line and square before commencing erection. Carry out all fixing, erection and fitting to finish rigid, plumb, square and true to line and face.

Installation - Fire rated walls

3.11 INSTALL FIRE RATED WALL

Install steel stud wall framing without perimeter aluminium head section profiles. Fix plasterboard linings to lining manufacturer's requirements to provide specified fire resistance rating. Apply aluminium skirting profiles over.

Installation - doors

3.12 INSTALL ALUMINIUM DOOR FRAMES

Install in accordance with Partitioning Supplies (NZ) Limited installation requirements, complete with all sections as specified.

3.13 INSTALL ALEMENT DOOR LEAFS

Install in accordance with Partitioning Supplies (NZ) Limited installation requirements, complete with all hinges, sliding door gear and door hardware as specified.

3.14 INSTALL ALEMENT SLIDING DOORS

Install in accordance with Partitioning Supplies (NZ) Limited installation requirements, complete with sliding door gear, tracks, rollers, guides, pickups pelmets and door hardware as specified.

3.15 INSTALL PROPRIETARY DOORS

Install in accordance with Partitioning Supplies (NZ) Limited installation requirements, complete with all hinges and door hardware as specified.

3.16 INSTALL PROPRIETARY SLIDING DOORS

Install in accordance with Partitioning Supplies (NZ) Limited installation requirements, complete with sliding door gear, tracks, rollers, guides, pickups pelmets and door hardware as specified.
