V. Classroom Policy:
1. Grades:
Quarter grades will be compiled by the average of tests, and quiz scores. Test are equivalent to two quiz grades. Cumulative review questions will be assigned weekly and will be due at the end of the week. At the end of the quarter, the cumulative reviews will be averaged together and computed into the quarter grade as one quiz. Students are allowed to use their notes or attend extra help sessions if they need help completing the cumulative review. Cumulative reviews will not be done during class time. Only assignments handed in on time will receive full credit. A final exam will be administered in June.
2. Supplies:
Each day, students will be required to bring to class a pen or pencil, a notebook and a calculator. Each student will be receiving a calculator to use from the school district. It is the students/parents responsibility to return the calculator in the same condition they receive it in. If the calculator is damaged or lost there will be a replacement fee.
3. Absences:
All work must be made up regardless of reason. Students should get missed notes, worksheets and cumulative reviews on my website. Students who miss a test or a quiz due to illness should be ready to take a make up exam upon their return to school. Students who miss an exam for any other reason should set up a time prior to their absence to complete the exam.
4. Homework Policy:
Homework will usually be assigned 4-5 days per week and will be due the next school day unless otherwise stated. Absent students should go to my website for all missed homework. If a student completes all homework assignments in a unit or chapter they will receive 5 points on their test grade for that chapter or unit. A deduction of 2 points will be made for each missed assignment and 1 point for each incomplete assignment. All work must be shown to receive full credit. Homework will be checked daily for completion. Cumulative review assignments are in addition to the daily homework assignments.
5. Extra Help:
Extra help will be available as per the posted schedule.
