At bauma 2016, Humbaur will exhibit its new HTD 50 five-axle turntable flatbed trailer at a trade fair for the first time. This 5-axle turntable flatbed trailer is the ideal choice for transporting diggers, forestry machinery, construction machinery, road construction machinery and heavy equipment weighing up to 40 tonnes. Thanks to flat loading ramps and an ingenious system of load securing mechanisms, loading and unloading are completed quickly and easily. A wide range of individual fittings also guarantee a vehicle that is perfectly adjusted to the needs of its respective user.
The 5-axle turntable flatbed trailer is the premium model in Humbaur’s heavy-duty trailer range. The new five-axle premium model in the HTD series has an offset cargo bed that can be lowered with air suspension for particularly easy loading. To handle the increased strain when transporting heavy construction machinery, the new flatbed trailer features an ultra-robust main and outer frame. The frame design features high-strength, fine-grain steels and IPE cross-beams. The offset flatbed trailer also offers an impressively low tare weight starting at 10,000 kg in the standard model, and a permissible gross weight of 50,000 kg with a special licence. The standard single-section loading ramps with a length of 3,150 millimetre, which are also optionally available with hydraulics, allow for a flat drive-up angle. Optionally divided loading ramps are available for devices and machines with extremely low chassis clearance and a small slope angle.
Optimum load securing, also for extra-width loads
With the optionally-available 3 m package, the turntable flatbed trailer can also easily handle demanding, extra-width loads. The package includes a tailgate boom, storage compartments for wooden ramps under the cargo bed, rotating beacons, and extensible red/white retro-reflective warning signs at the front and rear. To ensure industry-standard load securing, the trailer offers five pairs of recessed lashing rings on the floor and four pairs of rings in the frame as standard, with 10,000 kg tractive force per ring. The outer frame offers four pairs of floor lashing points, each having 3,000 kg tractive force.
Extensive individual fittings
Individual fittings include wheel recesses, locking cylinders for single-section loading ramps, low load height due to 205/65R17,5 tyres, lashing rings on the outer frame and the cargo bed, bolted stanchion recesses at the front, climbing aids on the ramps, a choice of drawbar designs, digger shaft storage, steering and lifting axles and much, much more.
Anti-corrosion protection that lasts
The standard frame of the 5-axle turntable – flatbed trailer is hot-dip galvanised in an immersion bath and therefore permanently protected against corrosion. The frame can also be supplied with visible surfaces painted, if required.
