UACES Student Forum Committee 2017-19

What is the UACES Student Forum?

The Student Forum aims to provide postgraduate students working in European Studies with useful resources for their research and builds networks between students from different universities, different countries and different academic disciplines. The Student Forum is the student branch of the University Association for Contemporary European Studies (UACES).

Each year, the Student Forum organises two events especially for postgraduate students. These are:

The Annual Research Conference – A two-day event which provides a friendly environment for postgraduates to gain experience of presenting research and develop contacts with other researchers in their field.

Doctoral Training Academy – A one-day event which looks at the PhD process as well as non/academic skills, providing practical advice for careers in and outside of academia.

UACES is currently in the process of rebranding the Student Forum into the Graduate Research Forum. This new forum will also provide space for Early Career Researchers (ECRs) to become more actively involved as well as having access to other benefits. We actively encourage ECRs to attend both of our annual events.

Why stand in elections?
