ACTIVITY REPORT FOR THE MONTH OF JUNE 2016

On 16 Jun 2016 :

A day long Workshop on “Stress Management” and “Work Life Balance” was conducted by the Psychologist, MrsNandini Raman. She spoke in length about the triggers of stress. Though she stressed as individuals, some amount of stress is natural and needed it overpowers our life we need to take charge of it. She told about the ways and means to cope with stress. A balance between home and work is essential to lead a productive life. A session on relaxation was also conducted.

On 17 Jun 2016:

  • Through a presentation CmdeSrikantKesanur took the staff of NCS, through the Indian Maritime History. It was a very interesting session in which he started with the World History than he acquainted teachers with the Indian Maritime History and ended the session to the Maritime History of Visakhapatnam.
  • As part of the staff enrichment programme faculty wise workshops were conducted for the teachers of all the wings of NCS.
  • The last session of the day was conducted by MrSatishValiveti his workshop was on “Health Consciousness” – it was a mirror to how healthy we are, both physically and mentally. It was a lively and rejuvenating session.

On 18 Jun 2016 :

  • Dr GK Beatress reiterated the importance of discipline she asked all the teachers to remain vigilant at all times and check the students as and when required.
  • The students of NCS, Vizag were taken for an excursion to “Walk To Himalayas” during the Summer Vacation. Through a presentation MrSanjeevKumar showed photographs of the various activities conducted for the students and shared the experiences of the trip.
  • The Principal, Dr Parul Kumar addressed the teachers of all the wing of NCS. The topic she chose was “Interpersonal Relations”. She first acquainted the teachers with the various aspects of interpersonal relations and how to maintain good interpersonal relationships. Through a game, she conveyed the message that the right information needs to be relayed so that down the hierarchy, the work is carried out in the right manner.
  • A Workshop on “Early Detection of Behavioural Abnormalities among Children” was conducted by Surg Cdr K.K Mishra (Retd.) ,Professor and Head of Psychiatry at JNMC , Wardha. He told the teachers about the common mental abnormalities among children, how we can identify such children, what we can do to help them and that we have to go beyond screening and diagnosing.

On 20 Jun 2016 :

  • The Chairman, Vice Admiral A. K Jain, AVSM (Chief of Staff) addressed all the teachers at the Community Hall, NSB. He applauded the achievements of the students of Std X & XII and congratulated the teachers for their hardwork bearing fruit . He asked the teachers to work equally hard for the coming session.
  • A demonstration of school cinema was given by Ms. Trisha of EduMedia India Pvt. Ltd. She gave a brief on the learning module and the various features of the school cinema. The talk was very informative ad provided teachers with new ideas towards use of “School Cinema”.

On 21 Jun 2016:

Navy Children School, NSB, Secondary Wing observed Yoga day on 21st June 2016. A speech highlighting the benefits of Yoga along with its various Asanas and Meditative poses, kriyas were apprised and demonstrated in the Morning Assembly to the children by various Yoga enthusiasts, duly trained by the regular Yoga teacher DrB.SatyaVani ,of the school.

On 29 Jun 2016 :

There was a lot of buzz in the days leading up to the exhibition. A large number of students participated in the event.This year the excitement was even more palpable since prizes were to be announced in various categories. All the departments had already chalked out their criteria for the judges. A guest, an expert in their field was invited as a judge for each department. The day was a grand success, not only because of the positive feedback of the parents and the visiting judgesbut also because everybody involved felt a sense of achievement of a task done well.
