Carlisle Sports Association

Student-Athlete Scholarships

Scholarships provided by the Carlisle Sports Association are distributed to recognize those student-athletes who balance the requirements to excel both in athletics and in the classroom. In previous years, the CSA has awarded 2 scholarships of up to $1,000.00 (one boy/one girl), 2 scholarships of up to $750.00 (one boy/one girl) and 2 scholarships of up to $500 (one boy/one girl)

This recognition is a SPORTS scholarship with consideration given for academic achievements. The student-athlete must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 to be eligible. It is not a need-based scholarship (awarded to the student who has the greatest financial need). The student-athlete must be in accordance with the CASD Code of Conduct located in the CASD Student/Parent Handbook. The student-athlete must also be in good standing with his/her team at the end of the season. Exceptions for injuries will be made.

Sports considered in this scholarship are varsity sports officially sponsored by the CASD, or the high school you previously attended. Do not include club sports, travel teams, AAU teams, etc., on your application. Do not include any other materials with the application.

The written component of the scholarship is very simple and required for two reasons. It demonstrates the student’s motivation for the scholarship, and provides the sports association some text to use in press releases, comments for awards presentations, etc. You may answer the essay question on the application or submit an essay already written for a class or college application.

Applications are due to the Guidance Office by 1:00 PM, Monday May 8, 2017. Awards are distributed at the All Sports Banquet hosted by the Carlisle Sports Association on

May 17, 2017. If you are awarded a scholarship, you will be asked to provide proof of the college, trade school, etc., you are attending in the Fall. Money may be used for any post high–school related expenses.

Although the selection committee does not see the names on the applications, all paperwork submitted must have your name clearly printed at the top of each page.

If you have any questions or suggestions regarding the application process, please submit them to and they will be forwarded to the selection committee.

Good Luck!
