Meeting opened at 7.50pm by Sue Hollins

DCI/ZA Panel Members Present: Darryl Williams (DCI), Wendy Abey (DCI), Pam Kalms (ZA), Sue Hollins(ZA), Wendy Hill (ZA), Joycelyn Moreland (ZA). Niree Weybury (ZCI) by phone.

Previous minutes of meeting held on Oct 12, 2016 passed as a true record: Moved: Pam Kalms; Seconded: Sue Hollins. Agreed.

6.6 The NCAS assessment day went ahead with 2 CZ candidates, who passed, and a couple from other zones. Niree to correct minutes at next CIP meeting.

Succession planning for Joycelyn’s replacements

The ZES position is appointed at the October AGM. Pam Kalms has been approached and may be a possible successor. It will also be advised at the zone meeting.

Meaghan to be approached to continue being the Higher Certificate Coordinator.

Reports:

C cert (Joycelyn)

5 Broadford, 1 Woodend, 2 Truganina (possibly). Broadford have offered as venue. Examiners Niree; Joycelyn was but has a conflicting engagement. April 1. Wendy Hill has offered to go. Joycelyn will supply paperwork, certificates etc.

Higher cert (Joycelyn)

Jan w/s: John Francis instructed B candidates. Jayde Kirkham and J’Aimee Mallon (Macedon) and Maddy Gretton (RC). They also did their flat work pre-assessment.

Four riders from Truganina. Two were working towards K and two also came for help with the C cert.

CIP meeting (Niree)

Minutes discussed. Some inaccuracies noted.

General Business

1.  Retirement dinner for Ruth – unresolved; too few members present.

2.  Gear checker for Glenlyon HT Feb 26

Sarah Klas has requested help from the zone panel to support Joyce Williams with gear-checking.

Darryl could be available if there is no-one else. It is also suggested that Sarah should look at her entries to see if there is someone skilled who could help (for a fee). Joanna Brennan could also be approached to help. Niree will ask Joanna.

3.  Showing Clinic Feb 25

Only one entry so far. Hoping that it will be promoted at rallies. Aimee to be asked to promote on FB.

4.  Judging for grade 4&5 dressage at the Zone Champs. Looking for volunteer judges from the panel. Niree happy to do it but may have a conflict of interest. Not considered a problem at lower grades. Joycelyn also will help.

Any other business

Special skills list: Wendy up-dated some entries.

Steph Gillespie will do dressage checking. Darryl added SJ. Wendy Abey will do R2T.
