Community Transport have offered a 12 seater minibus for the Port tour, at a cost of £50.00, they would prefer an evening –john chaplinconfirmed available dates for Port Tour – agreed 31st May (our next mtg) would be good, Christine agreed to confirm details with John, we will have 11 seats, meeting thought it a good idea for our Chairman to invite Mark Pepper from Lawrence Weston to come along for the tour. Email will be sent to confirm to Port.

As no funds available we will need to pay for the bus ourselves this will be £50.00 divided by 11 = £4.90 each

Planning Ap – Garage on Portview Road – rejected due to entrance & flood risk

Local Plan – lots of discussion around this & how we would like to be represented:

Encourage an Enterprise Zone – perhaps Lidl in L.weston might encourage further development for supermarket in Avonmouth/Shire borders – Strong feeling that there should be an “Exclusion Zone “ for processing businesses” around residential areas.

Day Group – not contacted re the offer of a visit due to the EA refusing to grant a permit to them, felt we should just keep an eye on this for the time being. Waiting for a barristers report from BCC regarding the planning on this site.

Meeting discussed creating a map of the area and marking businesses where incidents have occurred or potential for incident, to start this after Port visit and ask Severnnet for help.

Pre-ap advised @ Cabot Park by John Lewis warehouse for Warehouse/Industrial use but NOT chemical

Costain – agreed by Planning but with conditions re monitoring of Dust etc to be done.

Local dust monitoring with”Frisbees” report is being put together – will then be distributed.

Other matters discussed included:-

How things will continue after Neighbourhood Partnerships – report given re discussion groups on 22nd April, most people seemed to want continued quarterly meeting for the Avonmouth Ward, to be held in different area each time, continued involvement with the Police and regular reports, a need for whole area communication, and to work to keep our village clean and safe. Discussion about possibility of a Community Website and putting the Bridge online in a similar way to “the Shire”

Agreed for an enquiry to be sent to BCC planners regarding the Bus Depot

A group of conservationist would like to walk around the village with local people to create a local list/know your place to mark places of interest ie old buildings etc

Group agreed to invite Paul Smith to a meeting in the near future.
