Context of Work

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Volunteer Coordinatorat CoolTan Arts.

CoolTan Arts is dedicated to the de-stigmatisation of mental health. Projects at CoolTan Arts aim to transform people’s lives and engage people with mental distress through volunteering and contributing in civic and public engagement.We achieve this through quality arts education, well-being and Advocacy services. CoolTan Arts has won the Queens award for volunteering.

Job Purpose

CoolTan Arts is looking for an energetic,experienced ‘people person’ who isupbeat andhas a sense of humour.They must be lively with a ‘can-do attitude’ with integrity and who works well in a team. The Volunteer Coordinator will lead on recruiting, engaging and supporting a range of volunteers from diverse and excluded communities; especially those with mental distress, disabilities and long-term health conditions as well as funding for this activity. The right person for this role needs to be flexible and have a range of skills to meet changing needs. This role will lead on the strategy of volunteering at CoolTan Arts.

Tasks and Responsibilities

The areas of responsibility fall into 3 main areas:

Project Coordination

Overall volunteerproject coordinationof a number of volunteer projects as agreed with supervisor

Recruitment, induction, training delivery and coordination of volunteers

Volunteer support

Scheduling, planning andfacilitating volunteer meetings

  • Flexibility to undertake work on a range of projects such as cooking, walking, gardening, receptionists, office administration, workshop leaders, as needed due to funding and need
  • Working and building on our cooperate partners and other stake holders engaging them in volunteering and team days
  • Celebrating volunteers’ contribution and submitting them for volunteerawards
  • Out of normal hours working i.e. some weekend and evening events

Collecting, collating and submitting all volunteer receipts for travel expenses

Undertaking outreach, with volunteer support, on behalf of CoolTan Arts and partners

Undertaking marketing/PR

  • Data collection and report writing for funding applications

Any other reasonable tasks required, associated with the project

Administration

  • Excellent oral and written communication needed
  • Keeping and maintainingaccurate and up to date records of volunteer applications, attendance and completion of volunteering opportunities at CoolTan Arts
  • Keeping accurate records of activities to feed into monitoring reports to funders
  • Producing statistical reports as required
  • Writing and researching funding bids and input into other organisational bids
