Job Title: Project Management Officer

Role Purpose:

This position's primary responsibility is ensuring organizational effectiveness by providing leadership as a senior-level practitioner on the forefront of advancing the organization’s strategic goals by managing multiple, related projects in a coordinated way, achieving benefits that could not occur if the projects were handled separately. Project tracking and management may include grant deliverables, programmatic work, technology/software development, and community engagement.

Key Accountabilities:

●Oversee a diverse slate of organizational projects, including grants, community programs, technology and software development, and community engagement/feedback.

●Construct and oversee project plans and budgets that align with organizational strategies and specific funding requirements, inclusive of scope of work, goals, objectives, roles/responsibilities, monitoring and reporting, data collection, measurement frameworks, partnerships, and estimated time and financial commitments.

●Work proactively and collaboratively with internal and external staff and partners to: 1) set, track, and meet grant and programmatic targets; 2) ensure timely delivery of grant/programmatic targets.

●Report regularly on the progress of projects and ensure that it is staying on the approved schedule, providing the correct documentation and reporting structure for each project inclusive of an project data analysis.

●Develop processes for data collection needed to report on grant/project requirements

●Maintain an ongoing relationship with partners and internal staff

●Oversee and implement projects in accordance with the organization’s grant management system and offers recommendations on system improvement.

Education, Skills, Experience, and Training Required

●Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification required.

●A Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years’ experience in project management or a comparable combination of education and experience. Master’s preferred.

●Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing major projects or initiatives, including creating project plans.

●Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative, feedback-oriented management style.

●Budget development, tracking, and oversight experience.

●Ability to work independently including the ability to anticipate project needs, discern work priorities among multiple concurrent assignments, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

●Must stay current with job- and industry-related technology.

●Strong analytical skills, project management and process improvement experience.

●Demonstrated ability to proactively manage multiple tasks effectively.

●Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are critical.

●Strong work ethic and a high level of integrity.

Technical Knowledge and Equipment

●Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Project, Word and Excel.

●Project management software, such as: Smartsheet, Asana, or Wrike.

●The incumbent in this position may operate any/all of the following equipment: telephone, cell phone, and fax machine; computer, printer and related equipment; copy machine; audio-visual equipment; calculator.

Environment:

The environment for this position is an open office area that is clean and comfortable. It may include some minor annoyances such as noise, odors, drafts, etc. The incumbent is in a non-confined office-type setting in which he or she is free to move about at will. In addition, the incumbent may have limited travel to client sites, workplace events, meetings, etc.
