The Lowry – Getting Here

The Lowry is 10 minute drive from Manchester City Centre, 20 minutes from Manchester Airport, and a quarter of a mile from the motorway network, giving access from all over the North West and beyond. From the M60 take junction 12 for the M602. The Quays is a quarter of a mile from junction 3 of the M602. Follow the brown Lowry logo signs.

Important Information About Your Visit

The Lowry is fully aware of its responsibilities as a public building. In line with advice received from our security advisors, additional security measures are in place across our building. We kindly ask that patrons refrain from bringing large bags to the venue and that they arrive in plenty of time in order for any potential security checks to take place.

The Show Will Go on!

Should we see adverse weather on the day of any performance at The Lowry, the show will continue as normal. Due to the nature of our agreements with the producers who bring their shows to The Lowry, we are not able to offer any refunds or ticket exchanges outside of our normal policy (see standard terms and conditions with link) due to adverse weather. Galleries opening times may vary, but please check back for the most up-to-date information.

Where do I park?

Blue Badge parking for The Lowry is available in theLowry Outlet.

Pre-purchase your parking at time of booking

You can pre-pay for your parking when you book your tickets either on the phone, in person, or online from The Lowry Theatre. The cost is £5. On payment we will send you a parking voucher along with your tickets, on arrival at the car park please take a ticket to enter and use your parking voucher when exiting.

Validate your ticket when you arrive at the car park

If you have not pre-purchased your car park voucher when booking, you can pre-pay the ticket you receive on entry into the car park (at a cost of £6). To do this visit any pay station within the Outlet mall (between 5pm and 8pm) insert your car park ticket, select Lowry pre-pay then select validation then pay the charge. By pre-paying your ticket there is no need to queue to pay at the pay stations at the end of your visit. Pre-pay tickets are valid for parking between 5pm - 1am.

Please note that there is no facility to pay for parking within The Lowry.By Metrolink

The Lowry is easily accesible via two Metrolink lines, the Eccles line, and the Media City UK line - travelling from Manchester City Centre, the Metrolink takes approximately ten to fifteen minutes.

From the Eccles tram, alight at Harbour City stop - The Lowry is approximately a 10 minute walk from this stop.
From the MediacityUK tram, alight at MediacityUK stop - The Lowry isapproximately a 5 minute walk from this stop.

The Lowry Coach Park accommodates up to 25 coaches and is free of charge. There is a drop-off point directly in front of The Lowry.

By cycling or walking

The Lowry is accessible by bicycle from Manchester city centre, and via various cycle paths across the city. For information on cycle routes from Manchester to Salford Quays visit

There are several walkways navigating the rejuvenated waterways of Salford Quays. The Lowry Footbridge offers access from Trafford Wharfside and provides spectacular views of The Quays.
By Train

If you are exiting the train at Oxford Road, walk up Oxford Road towards Deansgate, where you can board the Metrolink (see below).

50 - East Didsbury - The Lowry. Regular service running every fifteen minutes, including Sundays.
