Hennepin County Fair Talent Contest 2017

Registration at 12:00 noon-1:00 pm., the contest will begin at 1:00 P.M.
Winners will be announced on the Main Stage one half hour after the last performance.
DIVISIONS
Pre-Teen (12 years and under)
Teen (13-18 years of age)
Open (Any age)
RULES:
1. Pre-registration is encouraged by June 12, 2017. $5.00 registration fee is due at time of registration.
2. 4-minute time limit. Points will be deducted for contestants going over
the time limit. Musical groups and vocalists are allowed to perform a
medley of tunes, but must remain within the 4-minute time limit.
3. Sound System: All contestants are required to use the sound system provided. A sound technician is on duty at all times. The contestants must provide all instruments and amplifiers if needed. The Fair does not allow microphones supplied by the act.
4. Accompaniment: Vocalist may use recorded accompaniment, provided it contains instrumental accompaniment only. Absolutely no back-up vocals are allowed on vocal performance accompaniment (act will be disqualified if there are back-up vocals on their recorded accompaniment).
5. Pre-recorded accompaniment may be an audio CD or an MP3 file on a memory stick. CD’s must only have the one accompaniment track solely on it. CD must be “cued” and ready for performance. (A backup CD is recommended, but NOT required).
6. All material must be clearly labeled with the contestant’s name.
Additional labeling may be applied to the material.
7. Please make sure your CD works in a CD played and not just on your computer.
8. The contestant is responsible for the quality and reliability of any CD/MP3 file used; a bad CD/MP3 will distract from your performance.
9. CD/Memory Stick will be returned to the contestant after the Talent Contest Judging. The Fair accepts no responsibility for items left after the Talent Contest Judging.
10. The judge’s decision is FINAL.
11. ONE winner from each division will be selected to represent Hennepin County at the Minnesota State Fair Talent Contest.
