Rules

Novice Classes 2 3,5 & 6 restricted to a combination of Horse and Rider that have never previously been placed 1st to 3rd in any competition involving jumping. There will be ‘L options’ which will incur 15 jumping penalties as will jumping the wrong fence for your class. 20 penalties will be incurred for first refusal, 40 for second refusal and elimination for third refusal but you may continue the course at the discretion of the jump judge.

A horse /pony may only compete in one class, except if also entering pairs.

Non Pony Club Members are strongly recommended to have their own insurance.

Hats to the following standards must be worn whilst mounted:- PAS015:1998, EN1384:1996, BS EN 1384:1997, SNELLE2001, AS/NZS3838:1998 or AS/NZS 3838:2003.

A Jockey Scull, with no fixed peak, must be worn for Cross Country riding over fences 80cm high and above. It is strongly recommended that a Jockey Scull be worn for Cross Country riding even over lower fences. To be run under pony club rules, guidelines for pony club eventing.

Body Protectors and Medical Armbands are compulsory for Cross Country. There will be armbands for sale.

No stopwatches to be worn. No dogs allowed on the course.

Objections may be lodged within 5 minutes of results being given but £10 deposit must be lodged with the organising committee - whose decision is final.

Disclaimer of Liability. Neither the organisers nor the Duke of Buccleuch’s Hunt Pony Club accept liability for any accident, damage, illness or injury to horses, riders, spectators or any person or property whatsoever.

Cancellation. In the event of cancellation the amount refunded will be less £5 per entry to cover costs.

Holefield is situated on the B6396, 7 miles South East of Kelso.

Times will be posted on the Secretary’s caravan and will be available on ORby telephoning 07766 658627 between 7pm & 9pm Friday 5th October 2012

Rosettes 1st - 6th in each class. Catering and Toilets will be available on the field

The course will be open for inspection on Saturday 6th October 2012 from 2pm.

Entries will be limited to a maximum of 200.

Late entries may be accepted, incurring a £5 late entry fee after closing date at the discretion of the secretary

Numbers and bibs will be provided – please bring a £5 cash deposit which will be refunded upon return of the bib, including number insert.
