Job Role
This role will be a dual role working between South Tyneside and Sunderland, facilitating awareness raising and recovery groups.
The role will be to undertake therapeutic group-work,diagnostic pre-learning assessmentsand planning for session delivery. The role will be working in a small team that supports individuals who have experienced domestic abuse.
The role may also involve supporting with social groups if necessary.
Job Responsibilities
Work with the staff within the complex domestic abuse services to continue to develop and deliver a comprehensive group timetable to people accessing the service. In the first instance this will be two courses.
Support individuals to actively engage with the courses and other community services and networks.
Motivate individuals to ensure participation in interventions and work with co-facilitators to review and monitor participants progress and individual needs.
Undertake assessments/reviews to determine the suitability of individuals for theprogrammes.
Maintain case notes and records.
Ensure that risks associated with the delivery of services are effectively assessed and managed, specifically in relations to the protection and safeguarding of service users, staff, volunteers, contractors and the general public.
To oversee volunteer facilitators.
Maintain in depth and up-to-date knowledge of all Changing Lives practices and policies and present a professional image of Changing Lives at all times.
Comply with all legal and health and safety requirements.
To work to the performance standards provided and requested by Changing Lives.
Take part in all agreed monitoring and evaluation procedures including session evaluations, course reviews and live analysis of sessions.
To actively take part in supervision sessions, reflective practice and be an active member of the team.
Keep abreast of developments in practice to ensure the best service possible for drug/alcohol users.
To carry out any other reasonable requests.

Qualifications /
  • Relevant professional qualification or PTLLS Qualification

  • NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care or an equivalent relevant qualification Relevant professional qualification or PTLLS Qualification
  • Trained in Dialectal Behaviour Therapy

Experience /
  • Experience of working with complex and vulnerable individuals.
  • Experience of Group Facilitation
  • Experience and skills in programme delivery in a group setting
  • Experience of working closely with external agencies.
  • Experience of working in environments which require confidentiality and are health and safety conscious.
