Summary of ACEI-HKM Branch Activities

ACEI Hong Kong and Macau (ACEI-HKM)
1) School-based Management and Exchange Project

This project included exchange visits, seminars, interviews with educators and school principals as well as the production of a CD Rom about school-based management in Hong Kong and Macau.

2) Publication of books

(i) Book title:

Koo, R., Wu, S. W., & Li S. P. (eds.) (2004). Education development & curriculum innovations: Perspectives & experience from mainland China, Hong Kong & Macao. Hong Kong: ACEI-HKM.

This book contains a total of 280 pages written in Chinese, it was published in October 2003 by ACEI-Hong Kong and Macau branch.

(ii) Book title:

Hui, M., Dawson, C. R., & Moont, M. G. (eds.) (2004). Inclusive education in the new millennium. Hong Kong: ACEI-HKM & Education Convergence.

This book contains a total of 326 pages written in English. ACEI-HKM also funded the publication of this book with Education Convergence in 2004. The book was sponsored by the District Teacher Network.

3) ACEI-HKM Newsletter Dec 2003.

The ACEI-HKM Newsletter is for both internal and external circulation. Available upon request or download from our ACEI-HKM website.

ACEI-HKM has agreed to give our branch rebate back to ACEI Headquarters as a donation. Our branch does not need the rebate.

4)  Pearl River Delta Exchange Project: The Development & Exchange on the Childhood Education in Zhujiang Delta Region (China).

Duration: June – Dec 2004.

ACEI-HKM has been awarded a project grant through the Subject-Related Organizations Scheme of the Hong Kong Government (EMB) for educational exchange and visits to the Pearl River Delta Region (PRD) in mainland China.

Part III: Symposium on Adaptation and Development in Education

Symposium is jointly organized by the Hong Kong Teachers’ Centre and ACEI-Hong Kong & Macau and to be held on Saturday, 31 October 2004 at the Hong Kong Teachers’Centre in Hong Kong.
The Hong Kong Teachers’Center (a govt. education body) has provided generous support and assistance to or branch activities, including organizing seminars and promoting exchange programs with schools in Hong Kong and Macau. They also offer clerical assistance and room facilities for seminars and workshops.
