Alberta Council Centennial Award

Application Process

CRITERIA:

  • In celebration of Alberta Council’s 100th Anniversary, the Alberta Council Centennial Awardis a very special provincial award which will be presented to Guiders and Ranger-aged girls who have made and continue to make an outstanding contribution to Guidingwithin AB/NT/YK.
  • It is a one-time award to celebrate Alberta Council’s 100th year of Guiding.
  • The nominee’s service may be to adults and/or girls.
  • Her contributions to Guiding need not include a provincial position or be known province-wide.
  • Approval of the award cannot be based solely on past service. Her contributions must be on-going, not just a one-time task. She must still be actively involved and intend to continue serving Guiding.

APPLICATION PROCESS:

  • On the R.3P application form for this award, write “Alberta Council Centennial Award” on the line beside the provincial award tick box.
  • The R.3P must be accompanied by two letters of support documenting service. These can be on the attached ADULT NOMINEE or RANGER NOMINEE forms (preferred) or traditional letters. The nominee will be considered on the sole basis of the application’s two references—a copy of the iMIS record is not required and will not be supplied.
  • A certificate will accompany the Alberta Council Centennial Award.
  • Applications will be considered carefully on their own merit by the Provincial Awards Committee. Final approval will be given by Provincial Executive Committee/Alberta Council.
  • Hard copyapplications must be mailed to provincial office postmarked no later than February 28, 2013 (no emailed applications please). No late applications will be accepted.
  • Awards will be ready for distribution by April 15, 2013.
  • Awards must be presented no later than June 30, 2013.
