MASS-231

Television Production II

3 Semester Hours

HOWARD COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Description

This course will include complex skills in dramatic television productions: script breakdown, casting, directing

talent, as well as camera, sound, lighting techniques for dramatic productions. Television majors will be

working with students from THET-241, Acting for Television, and assembling production crews to complete

short dramatic scenes. Prerequisite: MASS-230. (4 hours weekly)

Overall Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

1. Direct complex dramatic scripts.

2. Create relationships between design elements.

3. Breakdown dramatic scripts into schedules to coordinate cast and crew.

4. Demonstrate proficiency in complex dramatic lighting, video and sound editing.

III. Talent and crew scheduling and coordination

IV. Editing complex dialog and dramatic sequences

Course Requirements

Grading/exams: Grading procedures will be determined by the individual faculty member but will include two

quizzes or exams and at least one creative lab activity.
