Sanction: The meet is held under sanction of United States Swimming, Inc. and Snake River Swimming, Inc. Sanction . “In granting this sanction it is understood and agreed that USA Swimming shall be free from any liabilities or claims for damages arising by reason of injuries to anyone during the conduct of the event.”

Facilities:50 meter X 25 yard indoor pool with depth equal to or less than four feet to thirteen feet. Eight 8-foot lanes. Paragon-style blocks over pool depth of equal to or more than six feet to thirteen feet. Six inch anti-wave lane lines. Large spectator gallery.

The minimum water depth, measured in accordance with Article 103.2.3 is 6’ 9” at the start end and 6’ 9” at the turn end.

The competition pool has been certified with USA Swimming in accordance with 104.2.2C(4).

Type:Timed Finals

Timing:Daktronics Omnisport 6000 Timing System with an eight to ten lane scoreboard. Hy-Tek Meet Manager software with Timing Console Interface.

Officiating: The Referee must be a YMCA certified Level II official. At least one additional official must be YMCA certified (Level I or Level II). Other official positions can be filled with either YMCA or USA-S certified officials. All age groups will be officiated under YMCA (USA-S) rules with no exceptions for the younger age groups. Relay take-offs must be dual-confirmed.

Purpose: To promote the sport of swimming and to gain recognition for YMCA contribution to swimming.

Description: The YMCA Virtual Invitational is a nation-wide meet open to all YMCA registered swim teams. All competition must be closed (YMCA teams only) and hosted within their local area or YMCA. The results of local team swimming meets will be consolidated into one Meet with teams awarded on their virtual place scoring. Please Note: Only Saturday’s events will be submitted for YMCA Virtual Meet scoring purposes.

Fees: $13.00 per swimmer ($1.75 pool rental & $3.75 lifeguard fee; $2 Admin/ Hospitality, $2.75 timing system, $ 1.00 Zone fee, $1.75 Snake River Travel fund).

Swimmer In order to compete in the National YMCA Virtual Invitational Meet, the Competitor Eligibility: must fulfill the following conditions:

1. Is a current, full privilege, annual YMCA member by the entry deadline date of October 7, 2011 for the Virtual Invitational.

2. The swimmer must be an amateur and must not have represented another YMCA or another organization (schools excluded) in open or closed competition since September 1, 2011. High school post-graduate swimmers are ineligible.

3. All swimmers must hold current USA Swimming registration cards (2011 or 2012) as of the deadline date of October 7, 2011. Age of the swimmer on October 15, 2011 will determine the swimmer’s age group.

Rules: All events will be governed by current YMCA (USA-S) rules. All events will be swum as timed finals. Swimmers will swim in pre-seeded heats as designated in the heat sheets posted at the meet.

Relay only swimmers must be on master entry form and all fees paid.

Swimmers may swim the same event twice during the two day meet as long as the events fall on different days. Eight and Under swimmers are encouraged to not swim back-to-back events (i.e. 8 & U 25 free and 10 & U 50 free) as there will be no break between events.

There will be no time trials offered.

500 Freestyle swimmers must provide their own counters and timers.

Any swimmer entered in the meet, unaccompanied by a USA Swimming member coach, must be certified by a USA Swimming member coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. It is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer’s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement. If we do not receive verification signed by the swimmer’s coach with the entries, the swimmers will be required to start from the water.

Protests will be handled in the manner described in Section 102.11 of the USA Swimming Rules and Regulations. Current Snake River Swimming safety guidelines and warm-up procedures will be followed.

Awards:No local participation award will be given. Any team or individual award will be given by the YMCA of USA and the YMCA Swimming & Diving Advisory Committee, pending results at the conclusion of the competition period.

Entries:A swimmer may swim a maximum of four (4) events with at least one of these being a Saturday relay ( e.g. two individual and two relays; three individual and one relay). The 500 will

not count in the total numbers of events.

Sunday: A swimmer may enter a maximum of three (3) events.

Submit team entries via the Hy-Tek TEAM MANAGER software meet entries file using the “Export” option. Email entries as an attachment to the following email address: . We require the following files: meet entry file with individual and relay entries, the Hy-Tek software TEAM MANAGER “Meet Entry Report, including Relays” and “Meet Entry Fee Report”. These reports can be generated with the TEAM MANAGER software in Microsoft Word format.

Enter swimmers in their best short course yard times. “No Times” (NT) will be accepted. Deck Entries will not be accepted.
