Slovenian Tourist Board welcomes new EasyJet route from London Gatwick to capital city Ljubljana

EasyJet, Europe’s leading airline, announced on 15 September that there will bea new route from London Gatwick to Ljubljana starting on 5 December 2016.

Slovenia is the perfect destination for winter sport lovers, with resorts from 30 minutes drive away from the airport. Tryalpine skiingon the slopes of Vogel and Krvavec. In Kranjska Gora, go on an ice climbing touraccompanied by a mountain guide, or participate in outdoor survival courses. More family friendly sporting options includesleddinginBledon ski slopes ortoboggantracks inKranjska Gora. Visitors could also try snowshoeingacrossPokljukaplain on some of Europe’s mostbreathtakinglandscapes.

Arriving just as the festive season gets underway, visitors taking the new flights will bewelcomed by lights illuminating the city centre, filled with Christmas markets adorned with ornaments, andvendors selling local, authentic crafts and specialtiesandscents of roasted chestnut and mulled wine filling the air.

2016 has proved to bea particularly exciting year for Slovenia’s capital city,which has enjoyed the title ofEuropean Green Capital 2016and will soon host the Global Green Destinations Day Conference 26-28 September.
