Main Aims of the Post

Job Summary

To work with people for whom substance misuse is having an adverse affect on their life. As part of a multi disciplinary tam including Pennine Care NHS Trust, this role is responsible for managing a case load to assist people to move from addiction on a journey towards recovery where they take control of their own lives. The Recovery Coach will deliver a range of evidence based psycho social interventions through 1-2-1 work and group work and telephone interventions. Additionally the Recovery coach will be knowledgeable about the profile and resources of the communities within which they work. The Coach will seek to maximise the opportunities for clients to access/contribute to a wide range of services and resources within their community.

Main duties

1.  To provide one-to-one support using a range of tools and techniques including motivational Intervioewing for assessment, goal setting and inspiring service users.
2.  To deliver assessments, working closely with partners such as Renaissance (Rochdale Council’s Single Point of Contract) and Pennine Care NHS Trust and manage risk and safe guarding issues within their caseload- using the support of the Team leader/Manager.
3.  To facilitate and deliver group activities to support behaviour change and maintenance.; to support clients to understand their addiction and then help them through insight And peer support to achieve recovery.
4.  To work with the Team Leader and Service Manager and other members of the team to review progress against service goals and targets and continuously improve the service.
5.  To participate positively in case load management through supervision and to be committed to their own personal development through learning and training.
6.  To be committed to helping individuals develop their recovery through peer support, family relationships, mutual aid and volunteering.
7.  To engage locally within communities to identify resources that service users would be able to access.
8.  To contribute to the design and development of the service to improve outcomes for the service user and the population of the Borough of Rochdale.

11.  To regularly attend team meetings and events as required by the service.
