“BOXTOPS FOR EDUCATION”

August 2015 (Periods 14 & 15)

“Box Tops for Education” is the school fundraising program with the MOST recognition and participation. During Promotional Periods #14 and #15, General Mills will offer their comprehensive “Back to School” program, which includes the opportunity for local schools to partner with commissaries to earn up to $2,000 for their school.

Over the last four years, states have reduced school budgets by $530 billion nationwide. Education is increasingly important and powerful as a cause-related platform. “Box Tops for Education”is the #1 school fundraising program in the United States, with over 88,000 participating schools and 90% awareness.

“Box Tops for Education”is a simple and accessible way to earn rewards for schools. Each box top collected is worth 10 cents. Many popular General Mills items will be carrying TWO box tops (20 cents) during the month of August. High value coupons, live product demonstrations and customized point of sale materials will be available to support the program.

A display contest will award stores an engraved “Back to School” trophy. The criteria will be the greatest sales percent increase through the cash register over the prior year. One winning CONUS commissary from each sales band and one winner for Europe / Far East will have the opportunity to win this award.

Your local General Mill’s sales representative will take photo entries and enter your store in the contest. Winners will be announced by October 15, 2015.

This year families will get the cool stuff they want and the essentials they need when they “Fuel Up for School” withKellogg’s snacks and breakfast foods.

Families have been on the go all summer. But now, it’s time to change gears. With a new school year approaching, the excitement builds but the “to-do” list grows. To help families get revved up and ready, Kellogg’s will be offering some great deals and awesome rewards….crayons that spark the imagination, headphones that express individuality, and gift cards (up to $100) for parents to getall the stuff the family needs!

Stores will have themed point of sale material available to create impressive displays. On pack promotions for chances to win $100 gift cards and monster headphones; free music downloads; $4 off Crayola school supplies, and additional partner coupons. Military specific coupons and product demonstrations will be available as well. The Kellogg’s Company will also support this promotional program with TV advertising, social media communications, and high value national ad/flyers.

Kellogg’s will also partner with DeCA to bring hope, optimism and possibilities to military families by donating to the DeCA Scholarship Fund. The Kellogg’s Company will donate $.05 per box for every published Kellogg’s or Keebler item in DP#14 and DP#15 that is purchased from August 1 – August 31, 2015 up to $50,000.
