Vacancy full description / JD Services a servicing and maintenance company based in Dartford, are looking to recruit a Heating & Ventilating Apprentice to their growing team in Central London. The Apprentice must live within the M25 and be able to travel by public transport to site or to a pick up point.
The aim of this role is to maintain and service heating and ventilating systems including boilers inside commercial, industrial, educational, retail and local government properties. You will be working on different sites as required to meet the needs of the business.
The Heating & Ventilating Apprentice will assist the qualified engineers whilst learning how to complete the following:
  • Carrying out planned services and maintenance
  • Runningquality checks to make sure systems are working properly and safely
  • Diagnosing and fix faults
  • Following technical instructions and interpreting drawings
  • Discussrequirements with customers
This industry is at the forefront of protecting the environment. You would work with renewable energy technologies to improve energy efficiency, and special types of gas that do not harm the ozone layer.

Weekly wage / £160.00 plus travel expenses
With planned annual increases on the successful completion of college and site targets
Working week hours / 40 Mon-Fri 8am – 5pm. 60 mins lunch

Qualifications required / A-C GCSE English, Maths and Science or equivalent
Previous achievement of a construction/built environment/electrical is desirable but not essential
Reality check / You must live within the M25 and be able to travel by public transport to site or to a pick up point. A travel pass will be provided.
Other important information / The national minimum wage (NMW) for apprentices is £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16 to 18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the national minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The wage for apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent training.
