Here are the announcements for you for the week of September 25th. If you know someone that is not getting this email, please have them contact the school to update their contact info. This email will be posted weekly to the school website as well.

  1. Concord High will be the site of a national TV commercial being filmed for Goodyear. The commercial focuses on a football player growing up from a kid to a pro. The commercial people wants to have CHS students, staff, and community in the commercial like a real game. The producers chose CHS for its big fan support and history. Let’s try and fill the stands starting around 6:30 (or after curriculum night). Wear your CHS colors, feel free to make signs, etc.

Pass the word to anyone that wants to come out and get in the commercial! Let’s show the whole country how much Spider Spirit we have!

  1. Calling all Juniors and Seniors!

Jostens will be here Monday, 9/25 and Tuesday, 9/26 to help Seniors with Cap/Gown and announcements.They will help Juniors with Class ring orders. You should have gotten packets in the mail before school started with this information. If you need more info see a Jostens rep on Monday in the commons.

  1. The Counseling Department is planning to provide an informational meeting for students and parents onMonday, September 25th from 6:00 to 7:00 pm in the auditorium. Students and parents will learn about the college application process and student expectations from local university representatives.We will provide an overview of opportunities forstudentsand the appropriate protocols and processes in completing applications, requesting transcripts, making military contacts, applying for financial aid, etc.
  1. Our Fall Curriculum Night is Wednesday, September 27th. We hope to see all families and students there! The schedule will be:

5:30 - 6:00 pmAIG meetingin the auditorium

6:00 - 7:30 pmDrop-in Open House in the gym with all certified staff

Club Fair in the cafeteria

School Improvement Plan presentation in the PD room

6:00 -6:30 pmPersonal Project (IB) presentation in the auditorium

6:30 - 7:00 pmCAS and Extended Essay (IB) presentation in the auditorium

The counseling departmenthas started senior meetings this week.Seniorswill need to complete theSenior Survey formlocated on the school counseling websitebefore coming to meet with theircounselor.Theircounselor will schedule theirappointment during one oftheircurrent classes. Theirteacher will be notified the day before the appointment.
  2. The Principal’s Leadership Council (PLC) is a group of students from across the school that will help shape the future of CHS by offering suggestions on improvements, providing feedback and demonstrating leadership in the school and great Concord community. The PLC will meet monthly- sometimes during school and sometimes after school with Dr. Auerbach and various guests and members of the community. If your child is interested, there is a link on the CHS website to apply.
  1. Yearbooks can be purchased for the lowest price of the year for only a few more days. Go online to purchase at jostensyearbooks.com or call 1-877-767-5217 before 9/29/17 to get the book for $65.00. In addition, the special offer of four free icons will expire on the 29th.There are also old yearbooks from the last few years available for $25 each. Please come by the front office to pick one up!
