THIS MONTH’S THEME IS PIRATES & PRINCESSES’ AND ‘UNDER THE SEA’
Our learning through play will continue to progress throughout our monthly activities. The children will continue to build on new skills daily, please encourage these at home.

NUMBERS
Each day we encourage the children with counting. Counting during songs & rhymes and this month counting our Princess buns & Pirate cookies and how many fish are in the water tray.
THIS MONTH’S COLOUR – Rainbow colours
The sand tray will be filled with rainbow coloured theme related objects – plastic fish, princess crowns and pirate eye patches etc.
The Water will be lots of different colours and will have jugs added for measuring & pouring along with some coloured glitter.
MESSY PLAY / SENSORY DEVELOPMENT
Play dough will be rainbow coloured and we will have fun with soil & pasta with different textured tools & materials added.
THIS MONTH’S ARTS (we will send home children’s work for you to display)
We will be making: Princess Castles, Crowns, sparkly princess pictures, pirate ships, eye patches, treasure chests, pirate hats, hand print rainbows, fish, jelly fish and star fish and much more...
THIS MONTH’S CIRCLE TIME
Within the Wobblies we will use “Circle Time” to read stories, and sing etc to the children to develop each child’s love of books and language and knowledge.
Our stories this month will include the following topics:

THIS MONTH’S BIRTHDAY’S
Each month we may have a birthday celebration; if you wish you may send a cake/or healthy option to celebrate during break. (All Cakes must be nut free).

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES
We will be going for lots of walks, weather depending, to Wallace Park & Duncan’s Dam to feed the ducks. We will also be spending lots more time in the garden if the weather is dry. We will have lots of fun digging in the sand, splashing in the water, playing with balls, gardening tools, builders yard and mud kitchen, fairyland forest and sensory hut.
ADDITIONAL LEARNING ACTIVITIES
We will be baking fairy cakes with rainbow sparkles.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Can we ask that you please be extra cautious when driving around the car park area and always be aware of adults and children. We are sure you can appreciate that there are a lot of children within the nursery being collected at different times and it can be busy. Please always be attentive of this. Can we please remind you not to block the area where nursery vehicles are parked. This must be kept clear at all times so the vehicles can get in and out and we can safely off load the children. Thank you.
We look forward to having a visit from Amazon Jungle, aqualified Zoologist and Herpetologist, Catherine has spent her life devoted to the welfare of animals.After travelling in 2003she attended University to study Zoology while she set up her pet minding business which leads to educational talks ofreptiles. She minds all sorts of pets from birds, animals and reptiles while providing many types of other pet services.Nowadays her main work relates to entertaining and educating children on jungle reptiles.
This month we also look forward to welcoming Debutots back to Wobblies for some special summer stories. Debutots is a unique blend of interactive storytelling and dramatic play for 1 to 7 years. In exploring the stories vocally and physically Debutots facilitate children’s literacy and communication development whilst having lots of fun. The children will get to speak, listen, observe, imagine and do. For more information www.debutots.co.uk
