Clinician
Stockton FICS is currently accepting applications for the position of Clinician. Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, this position is responsible for providing clinical and case management services to children and families in the San Joaquin County.
Essential Requirements:
- Completion of a clinical program with Masters or Ph.D. degree in a field of behavioral science from an accredited educational institution.
- Hold a clinical license or current intern registration issued by appropriate state agency consistent with standards outlined in the Agency’s Clinical Staff Licensing Requirements policy.
Desired Requirements:
- Two years experience in a clinical position with children and adolescents.

JOB TITLE: CLINICIAN STATUS: AT-WILL/EXEMPT
Family Intervention and Community Support Program (FICS)
STATEMENT OF THE JOB
The FICS Clinician is responsible for establishing and implementing quality clinical treatment and case management for children and adolescents with special mental health needs. Clinician’s provide individual, group, and family therapy as well as rehabilitative services in community-based settings.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide comprehensive mental health assessments on assigned cases to determine the need for mental health services.
2. Develop service plans based on a comprehensive assessment of each client’s personal milestones and obstacles. The clinician shall evaluate each client’s progress and adjust the service plan as may be necessary and appropriate.
3. Complete all required documentation in a timely manner for each assigned client and maintain a comprehensive set of treatment records on each client as stipulated in the County Quality Improvement Plan.
4. Acts as the liaison between the program and community agencies and individuals such as Case Managers, County Social Workers, and Probation Officers. The Clinician shall work with the family or care providers in the implementation of service plans.
5. Provide individual, family and group counseling based on the needs of the clients.
6. Maintain collateral contacts within the family or care providers and community as indicated.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Completion of a clinical program with a Masters or Ph.D. degree in a field of behavioral science from an accredited educational institution.
2. Hold a clinical license or current registration issued by appropriate state agency consistent with standards outlined in the Agency’s Clinical Staff Licensing Requirements policy.
3. Must possess a valid California driver's license, and driving record that meets the
standards outlined in the Agency’s Personnel Policy, Motor Vehicle Operating
Standards. Must possess personal automobile insurance consistent with the standard
outlined in the Agency’s Personnel Policy, Motor Vehicle Operating Standards.
4. Must be physically and mentally fit to work with potentially violent, severely emotionally disturbed adolescents in accordance with the Agency’s Personnel Policy; Physical and Mental Fitness Standards. Must be willing to complete a health screening physical examination that includes a drug screen and back screen.
5. Must be willing to complete a personal background investigation conducted by the State of California.
6. Must obtain First Aid and CPR Certification.
7. Must be able to work without immediate supervision.
8. Must have good oral and writing skills in the English language, including the ability to write concise, informative professional reports and assigned documentation in a timely manner.
9. Must be willing to work with a culturally integrated workplace, and be willing
to respect human differences based upon race, age, handicap, religion, sexual
orientation, political persuasion, place of origin, color, or any other condition
that distinguishes people from one another.
10. Must be flexible to work nights and weekends, may need to work a split-shift, varying schedule according to the operational need.
DESIRED REQUIREMENTS
1. Experience in a clinical position with children and adolescents.
2. Current First Aid and CPR Certification.
