Level 3 Safeguarding Children Training

Face to face training is invaluable to professionals, as it elicits discussion and shared learning from actual safeguarding incidents. Face to face training allows the opportunity for learning from reviews. Within level 3 training, practitioners** are supported to understand local safeguarding processes and the complexity of safeguarding through GP Practice based case studies.

**e.g. children’s nurses , paediatricians, child psychologists, GP’s, health visitors, midwives, paediatric AHP, paediatric dentists, practice nurses, school nurses, urgent and unscheduled care staff see Intercollegiate document for full list of staff.

Level 3 Safeguarding Children Training – INITIAL

For all clinical staff working with children, young people and/or their parents/ carers and who could potentially contribute to assessing, planning, intervening and evaluating the needs of a child or young person and parenting capacity where there are safeguarding/ child protection concerns.

The course will include:

  • Child & family focused clinical and professional knowledge in identifying

what constitutes child maltreatment

  • Ability to risk assess
  • Knowledge of other agency roles
  • Section 47 enquiries
  • Knowledge function of LSCB’s
  • Information sharing
  • Case specific clinical competencies

Level 3 Safeguarding Children Training – REFRESHER

Ourrefresher trainingand recertification is more than a repeat ofinitialtraining. The programme builds uponinitialtraining and uses real scenarios and case studies.

This refresher training is available to all clinical staff who have undertaken the NEE CCG training since September 2014.

The course is free of charge to NHS NEE staff, however a charge of £30 will be implemented for non attendance - Lunch is NOT provided.

We have very limited visitors car parking at our offices and it will be on a first come first served basis, we therefore strongly advise car sharing or looking to find an alternative location to park. Visitor parking spaces are marked V4 to V10 and these are located on the right hand side of the entrance and N46 to N50 further on right hand side. All other spaces are allocated to CCG and adjacent organisation staff only.

The roads immediately surrounding Aspen House have double yellow lines but roadside parking can be found down The Crescent and Newcomen Way which are only a short walk away.

There is no option to purchase refreshments on site. Water dispensers are available.
