Harkstead Parish Council – Meeting Minutes

Date/Time: Monday - January 12 2015

Councillors Present: William Wrinch, Roger Harward, Alison Looser, John Zalucki, John Pollett, Simon Leatherdale. District Cllr. David Rose.

Also present: PCSO Jo Adams and clerk.

  1. Apologies – County Cllr. Dave Wood
  2. Declaration of Interest – William Wrinch is a trustee of the village hall
  3. Minutes of last meeting – December 2014, signed as correct.
  1. Matters Arising –.see Footpath and Millennium Green headings.

Adjournment – PCSO Jo Adams – reported no crimes in Harkstead during December, but locally - not on the Peninsula – there had been several late afternoon early evening burglaries. Mainly cash and jewellery.

  1. Millennium Green – Equipment had been inspected. Rubber matting has been successfully pressure washed. A small area has been treated with salt and sand to see how it reacts. As per ROSPA recommendations, new shackles will be fitted to swings. PC agreed the cost of £52. Rubber matting has been put on top of the mound.
  2. Planning Applications – Halfway House (formally No. 2 Council Houses) 2 storey side extension and new garage. PC recommends approval.
  3. Footpaths –The survey had been completed and Cllr. Harward collated all the information. Main problems were: 1. Blocked, off route or ploughed up. 2. Posts broken, missing or in poor condition. 3. Generally poor condition due to lack of use. Cllr. Harward to draft a letter to those landowners. Clerk to send finished information to the County’s appropriate department.
  4. Financial Report – no change from last month – Current Ac. £348. Bus.Sav. £3301. Savings Ac. £1684. Expenditure agreed this month – Clerk’s expenses 1/10/14 to 31/12/14 £269.63. Cheque raised and signed.
  5. Correspondence – Most sent by email. No one had any issues to raise.
  6. Any other business – Cllr. Harward will review the CEP. Cllr. Leatherdale had a fruitless conversation with BT to remove their ‘cage’ on his land at the end of Ipswich Rd.
  7. Next meeting – Monday February 9 at 7.30pm.

No other business so meeting ended 8.35pm.
