Setup
/ A brief description on how to setup parameterStep / Action / Information
1 / Set the value of the motor nominal current
ln parameter = ln motor
The aim is to give to the starter the exact value of the motor, which it will have to drive. / Refer to user manual
· Page 132
2 / Set the limitation current value at the starting
ILt parameter = to put at the maximum (do not worry if the value changes during the validation).
The aim is not to be influenced concerning the settings by the current limitation. It is a parameter that we will adjust last. / Refer to user manual

3 / Motor starting
Load the motor at the maximum of the application.
Ask for a working order and read at the same time the value of LTr – note down which maximum value goes through this parameter.
Do not worry if the motor has not started correctly – in any case ask for a stop at the end of 15 seconds.
Enter the LTr + 10 value in the TQ0 parameter and valid.
Do again a starting test. The application should easily start correctly.
The handling has the aim to realise a starting in torque control and to get the auto adaptive loop of the ATS48. Once this setting will be performed, the acceleration effort will be adapted automatically either off load or not; there will not be jerking anymore. / Refer to user manual

4 / Optimization of statoric losses (optional)
· The motor has started:
If the motor has previously started correctly, we can look for optimizing the statoric losses. The interest is to take advantage of every motor source limiting the starting current.
Decrease the LSc parameter by 10 (decrease from 50 to 40). The factory setting is at 50.
Start again until the motor does not start anymore (jammed rotor or reduced speed).
So rise again the LSc parameter by 10.
The statoric losses are optimized at about 10% !
· The motor has not started:
If the motor has not previously started correctly, (motor with low output), so we can optimize the statoric losses to retrieve torque at the starting.
Increase the LSc parameter by 10 (increase from 50 to 60). The factory setting is at 50.
Make again the request for working order.
Start again until the motor starts.
The statoric losses are optimized at about 10% ! / Refer to user manual
· Page 142
5 / Limitation current setting
Put the ILt parameter back to its default setting, that is to say ILt = 300.
Adjust the limitation current by successive approaches acting on ILt.
From experience it is extremely rare to outnumber 450 (classical values between 350 and 400). / Refer to user manual

Section 4; ATS48 Setup from SoMove
1. Launch SoMove Software.
2. Click “Connect” to get connected with ATS48.
3. Click “Parameters” tab in SoMove to set the parameters as explained in Section 3.
4. Click “Operate” Tab to read LTr value as explained in Section 3.
5. Click “Monitoring” Tab to display any parameters for example motor current.
Section 5; Remark
Now your Altistart 48 is correctly set. You can soften the movement again by acting on the ACC or the acceleration ramp time.
On some applications, such as the Archimede screws, there is a "removing" risk at the starting after several days of non-use. The booster function can be programmed (put the BSt parameter on 50 or 100).
