Job Purpose/Summary
To ensure that fundraising activity is implemented and managed locally to deliver budgets, targets and income in line with National and Regional plans and strategies. To achieve this by supporting and facilitating the development of Fundraising Groups and volunteers across their local area
Key relationships
Head of Regional Fundraising, Community Fundraising colleagues, Regional Event Teams, Regional Corporate Development Managers, Fundraising Group Development Managers, Regional Fundraising Product Managers, Supporter Relations Team and other fundraising colleagues across MCCC’s central teams.
Area Shop Managers, Regional Nurse Managers, Hospice Managers, Clinical Lead Nurses and other key MCCC staff.
Other MCCC regional contacts e.g. Marketing/PR, Regional HR etc.
Fundraising Groups and volunteers.
Supporters.
External fundraising networks and contacts from other charities.
Local media.
Other local community contacts.
Accountabilities (Duties & Responsibilities)
Ensuring the delivery of local fundraising plans and activities
Contributing to and delivering against annual budgets, targets and plans
Ensuring or assisting the team to ensure that National Campaigns are run effectively locally and are well planned, marketed and supported locally.
Supporting local, regional and national fundraising activities and events
Ensuring that accurate and up to date financial and supporter records are maintained and accessible
Providing reports and information about activity, performance, supporters, volunteers etc as necessary and upon request
Putting the supporter first
Working with Fundraising Groups and supporters in ways that encourage and support people to fundraise for MCCC
Providing and facilitating supporters with a choice of how they fundraise and work with MCCC
Responding to enquiries from the public, volunteers, fundraisers etc (by phone, mail and in person) including responding to requests for information and material etc
Giving talks and presentations to local organisations i.e. schools, rotary clubs, WIs etc, to increase awareness of and support for MCCC activities
Developing and managing key relationships inside MCCC
Proactively working in the community to develop and foster new supporters and Fundraising Groups.
Working with key MCCC staff i.e. nursing service staff, hospice staff, shop managers etc to obtain support for and involvement with l fundraising activities
Working with or assisting others in the team to work with local media and PR to maximise publicity and awareness of MCCC and its activities
Proactively using the fundraising database to develop and manage supporter relationships.
Working with volunteers and colleagues
Recruiting and supervising or assisting with the recruitment and supervision of the work of volunteers
Recruiting, setting-up and developing Fundraising Groups, or assisting with this
Supporting and developing colleagues and volunteers
Line managing staff, where appropriate
Administration:
Working within national MCCC policies, procedures and adhering to legal frameworks
Receiving, recording, banking and preparing paperwork for processing by the Supporter Relations Team in accordance with MCCC policies and procedures
Undertaking administrative duties as required in support of the core product portfolio.
General

Previous contact with the public (face to face or phone)
- Has arranged or participated in some local fundraising activity / Has raised funds in a community setting on a paid or voluntary basis or has worked in a related discipline (e.g. PR, marketing, sales, project management etc.)
Has worked as part of a team
Experience of setting and working to budgets, targets and plans
Experience of recruiting and managing volunteers / CV/Interview
Other requirements / Willing to work unsocial hours
