Job Purpose/Summary
The post holder will be the main point of contact for all banking queries and banking administration as well as income processing duties. They will also be responsible for petty cash and the processing of gift aid claims and a number of bank and control account reconciliations and other treasury tasks.

Accountabilities (Duties & Responsibilities)

1.  The post holder would be the initial point of contact for all banking queries and will need to liaise with the relevant bank to ensure any issues are satisfactorily resolved.

2.  Responsible for all administration with regard to the operation of the charity’s bank accounts and banking operations; this includes opening and closing bank accounts, stopping cheques and setting up standing orders etc.

3.  Ensure that all bank mandates are up to date and in line with Marie Curie policies.

4.  Assisting with the preparation and banking of income received, deputising for the cashier in their absence.

5.  Posting of cashbook and other income processing.

6.  Processing and posting of data from the fundraising database into the finance system.

7.  Responsible for the administration and control of Petty Cash floats throughout the Charity.

8.  Responsible for the issue, administration and control of other floats held throughout the Charity.

9.  Completing and filing gift aid returns with HMRC, as well as posting relevant journals and reconciling the related control accounts.

10.  The post holder will be responsible for completing a number of bank reconciliations and control account reconciliations.

11.  Downloading bank reports using online banking application.

12.  Importing of bank transactions into the finance system on a daily basis.

13.  To undertake ad hoc duties as required by the Treasury Team Supervisor and Financial Accounting and Systems Manager.

Salary £18,789 per annum plus London Allowance of £2,550
