Summary: My research work hascontributed to the general area of signal processing systems with applications in medical imaging, biomedical signal analysis, non-destructive evaluation, radar detection, image processing, and audioand video sensor networks with over $4 million of funding in these areas and over 90 technical publications. I have advised 41MS and 3 Ph.D. students, taught over 80 classes at the graduate and undergraduate level, and developedundergraduate courses in signal processing. Current research interests include distributed audio systems, acoustic/auditory scene analysis, statistical signal processing, and biomedical signals analysis. I served the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department in an administrative capacityfrom 1994 through 2007; 3.5 years as Interim Department Chair, and 8.5 years as Director of Undergraduate Studies. I have consulted with business and industry for the design and evaluation of signal processing and automated classification systems primarily related to ultrasonic and acoustic applications. In 2009 I co-founded a company, Signal Solutions, LLC primarily based on technology developed to track sleep and wake behaviors in mice useful for high-throughput genetic studies. We currently have several active installations in the USA and in Europe.
