Eight one week sessions run June10 - August 2.

Day Camp - For ages 6-11

M-F, drop off 7:00 - 9:00 am; pick up 3:30 - 5:45 pm

Registration Deadline is the Thursday before each session begins by 5:00 pm.

Campers must bring swim suit, towel, sack lunch, and drink daily.

The cost is $90/session except the week of July 1 - 3 when it's $54or $644 if registering for all 8 sessions at one time.

Bloomington Public Library Summer Reading Program begins June 3 - This year’s Summer Reading theme is Have Book; Will Travel, and the Library’s many adventure-related programs will – as always – be offered absolutely free!

- Registration: June 3-July 21 (registration may be completed online or in person at the Library or on the Bookmobile)

- Prize pickup: June 17-August 4

The Library’s Summer Reading Program is for people of all ages – 0-105!

End of Summer Reading Party - Don’t forget to join us from 10-noon on August 10 for our End of Summer Reading Party at the Library. We’ll have games, balloon animals, and live entertainment.

Camp Hope - is an 8-week summer adventure and enrichment program, designed for kids, ages 6 through 14.It is also offered as two 4-week sessions. The program is structured to provide a fun and safe environment for children during their summer break. Some daily activities include arts & crafts, sports, music and drama, indoor/outdoor games, swimming, local and out-of-town field trips, guest speakers, and opportunities to serve in the community.

-Two 4-week sessions are offered: Session#1- June 10-July 5; Session #2 - July 8-August 2.

Campers can sign up for the first, second, or both sessions.

-Cost is $85/week for first camper in family; $75/week for each additional camper

-Breakfastand PM Snack provided daily, campers need to bring their lunch.

-Hours are from 7:30am- 4:30pm; After Camp Care is available

-Three age divisions for each session are: 6-8yrs.; 9-11yrs.; and 12-14yrs.

Camp Kearney - (pronounced KAR-knee) in Glasford, IL is offering a FREE week of summer camp to central Illinois underprivileged kids this summer (there are 10 one week sessions). Children’s Discovery Museum Camps

• Each camp offered by the CDM includes various hands-on activities that are tailored for specific ages

and according to the camp’s unique theme. Programs include Museum admission for child enrolled.

• Please note the CDM does not open until 9 a.m. Campers and their parents/guardians who are

participating in camps that begin at 9 a.m. will not be allowed to check-in for camp until 9 a.m.

No Exceptions.

• Children must be picked up promptly at the camp ending time.

• All day campers must bring a sack lunch or pre-order an Avanti’s Lunch from the museum for $5.00.

The Avanti’s Lunch includes a 1/3 gondola, bag of baked chips, applesauce, and a 100 % juice box

(no substitutions are allowed).

• Please note that College For Youth camp and Heartland Community College camps have specific

registration requirements that differ from other programs.

• Unless otherwise noted, camps take place at the Children’s Discovery Musuem, 101 E. Beaufort St.

• NEW!! Please note CDM programs fill quickly and require registration and payment at least one

week in advance. You may register over the telephone with a credit card by calling 309-433-3444.

Cancellations must be received at least three business days prior to the state of the program to receive

household credit.

Summer School Age Program includes high-quality care and education, weekly fieldtrip, water day & park day. Education program includes journaling, elementary school activities, language and reading enhancement, organized games, etc. Program is for children 6 to 10 years old. New families welcome! Cost is $160/week. There is an additional one-time activity fee of $40 and a one-time new family registration fee of $30.

Easter Seals - Timber Pointe Outdoor Center Day Camp - Designed for parents who are seeking an alternative to Summer Day Care, and for kids who are looking for a SUMMER ADVENTURE in the GREAT OUTDOORS! TEN exciting weeks make up the Summer 2013 Day Camp Program. Each week has its own theme and campers may choose any combination of weeks or the WHOLE summer! Campers will have the opportunity to ride horses, zip on the zip-line, hang out with the barn-yard critters, ride a wagon, boat, swim, roast S’mores over a camp fire, craft-out, discover nature, learn crazy songs, and more! Parents may drop their campers off at Timber Pointe by 7:30am and pick them up by 5:30pm. Campers will be grouped accordingly by age. Explorers ages 4-7, Challengers ages 8-10, and Navigators ages 11-13. Breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack will provide fuel for campers as they learn, play and grow at Timber Pointe Outdoor Center. Cost is $125.00 per week and is open to the entire community. For students entering 6th – 10th grade; week long camp, 9-3 daily, July 8-12

Eco-Action Camp - Co-sponsored by the Ecology Action Center and Normal Parks & Rec, this camp will explore some of McLean County’s environmental challenges. We’ll improve water quality in our creeks by educating citizens about storm water run-off issues, plant trees, learn about native plants, recycling and more. We’ll visit Sugar Grove Nature Center, Lake Bloomington, and a maybe even a local swimming pool.

Adventurous students registering for this camp should be prepared to be hot, get wet, work hard, and have a fabulous time actively helping the world around us become a better place!

Campers will meet each day at the Ecology Action Center and then be transported to our various sites by van. Fee is $90 and registration is handled through Normal Parks and Recreation (www.normalparks.org)

Girl Scouts of Central Illinois Summer Opportunities - Registration for Girl Scouts of Central Illinois summer camp has begun! There are awesome summer opportunities for ALL girls entering grades Kindergarten through 12th. You don’t have to be a Girl Scout to attend.

Girl Scouts of Central Illinois offers sessions for every level of camper and all kinds of interests, including day camp, resident camp, and weekend and family events. Sessions include Canoes and Kayaks, Sweet Chefs, Archers and Anchors, and much more! Find a camp session or family outing that’s right for you! Heartland Community College YEP – Youth Enrichment Program – HCC Community Education, 268-8160

Class times, number of sessions, and course fees vary, as well. Registration has begun for students in elementary - high school. Community Education at Heartland Community College is offering over 100 classes for youth with topics that include: Computers, Arts & Crafts, Performing Arts, Life Skills, Academic Enrichment, Space & Science, Sports Camps, Horseback Riding and more! iCan Bike – www.icanshine.org Hosted by Easter Seals this program uses adapted bicycles, a specialized instructional program and trained staff to enable individuals with disabilities, ages 8 and up, to learn to ride a two-wheel bicycle. Participants attend one 75-minute session each day Monday through Friday. Each rider is accompanied and encouraged by a volunteer “spotter”. Over the course of the week the bikes are adjusted in an effort to challenge riders appropriately as they gradually discover the skill and joy of riding. This program is being held June 17-21 at Finish Line Ford in Peoria. The cost of the program is $75 and scholarships are available through the Lora DeAnn Broers Scholarship Fund. Marcfirst’s School to Work Summer Program is a 6 week course, June 17th- July 26th, for students ages

16 and older with a disability that are still enrolled in high school and want to expand on skills and knowledge

to prepare them for employment. The small group of approximately 8 students will learn work-preparedness

skills, job shadow several businesses in town, undergo Bloomington-Normal Transit training in a group setting, and expand on computer knowledge and social skills. The group will leave the 6 week course with a resume, completed career interest assessments, and interview training. Participants will have structured curriculum

based classes on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. The School to Work Summer Program is of no cost to

the participants. Participants have the option to attend the Marcfirst Friendsfirst program at Second Presbyterian, from 9:30 am-12:30 pm, on Tuesday and Thursdays for a one-time fee of $30 to further expand community and social skills.
