POSITIONDESCRIPTION:TheArmy SeniorEnlistedLeader (ASEL) is the Army Commander Texas Army National Guard’s principaladvisor on allenlistedmattersoftheTexasArmy National Guard; as suchthispositioncanonly befilledbyaTexas ArmyNational GuardSergeantMajor(E9).

Thisposition is nominative,meaning theArmy Commander determines the selectioncriteria andprocess.

DUTYLOCATION ANDEMPLOYMENT TYPE:Thispositionwill be either full time duty or traditional, to be determined at the time of selectionwith adutylocationof CampMabry:operations tempo will be high either way.Upon selection, theCommand Groupwillcoordinatewiththeindividual todetermine whichNational Guardstatusbestsuitstheneedsof thedepartmentandtheindividual. Iflateralappointmentis necessary,individualswill alsohave tomeetspecificrequirementsfor lateralappointment toCSMinaccordancewithNGR 600-200/AR 600-8-19.

CRITERIA FORAPPLICATION:

Applicantswho do not meet allareas of minimumcriteria will not be considered.

1.E9TXARNG,M-day,Title 32AGR, Dual-StatusTechnicians, orTXARNG/T10mobilized are encouragedto apply.

2.Mustbea graduate oftheUnited States Army Sergeant’s Major Academy (USASMA) course, and 2 years minimum Command Sergeant Major time.

3.MustpossessminimumSECRETsecurityclearance andbe eligible for TopSecret-SCI.

4.Mustbeableto complete athree-year tour fromstartdateofduty.

5.Mustbeeligibleforretirement(regular or non-regular) at theendoftour.
