Field Day will be on March 11th, which is just around the corner!
2nd—4thgrade students will participate in Field Day activities from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.
1st grade students will have Relay Day activities during their regular Specials class time on Field Day. Kindergarten will participate in Water Day activities at a later date.
Volunteers are only needed from 8:30am—11am. Please contact Mrs. Keene at o sign up.

Having lunch with your child is a special time to be shared between the two of you. Please remember that other classmates are not to eat with your child at the visitor tables.We would greatly appreciate your cooperation with this.
Library News
Did you know that the library has purchased many new ebooks for the students to read from home? These books area combination of fiction and nonfiction and are on many different levels. The Capstone ebooks have afeature which allowsstudents to read along with the book as it is read aloud. These books can be accessed by going to the Canyon Pointe Website -->Academics-->Library Online Resources-->Username: cpesstudent PW: 12345678. Links, usernames and passwords can be found on the Library Online Resources site for the following:

Please help your child remember his or her library books each week. Listed below are the days each class comes to the library. . Ifyour student has a book that is seriously overdue, I will be sending you home notices to help you look for the books at home and to pay for them if necessary. If at all possible when paying for a book, send a check or correct change. We are unable to make change in the library. Thank you for your help.

STAAR Testing Dates
STAAR Testing dates are March 29, 30, 31 and May 9, 10, 11
There will be no lunch visitors on these days.
Please make sure that your child:
- gets a good night’s sleep
- gets things together the night
before so not rushed the next morning
- starts day in a calm manner
- has a good breakfast
- is NOT late arriving at school
So they can do well on this very important test! It is recommended (but not required) that students bring their lunch on these testing days.

Science Day
Volunteers Needed!
On May 27th, we will need many parent volunteers to guide our students through our Science Day activities (about 2 per classroom). Contact Mrs. Star at to volunteer.
Materials Needed:
Kindergarten: large bubble blowers, large jugs of bubbles, unsharpened pencils, plastic spoons, Ziploc bags 1st Grade: 6 bags of marbles, paper plates, party blowers, craft sticks, Velcro dots 2nd grade: Empty 2 liter bottles, modeling clay sticks, medium sized pompom balls, snow cone cups, 10 bags of potting soil and flashlight light bulbs 3rd Grade: graham crackers, white pipe cleaners, Ziploc snack sized bags, and Scotch tape 4th grade: flashlights -the ones from Dollar Tree that use D size batteries or the ones that come two in a package with D size
