Located in one of the most spectacular and scenic areas of Washington State and the entire United States, the City of Port Angeles, (pop. 19,000), is situated on the northern edge of the Olympic Peninsula along the shore of the Strait of Juan de Fuca. The Light Operations Division of the city's Public Works & Utilities Department operates and maintains a system of 8.8 miles of 69kV subtransmission, 103 miles of overhead and 26 miles of underground 12.47kV distribution system and 7 substations, serving approximately 9,000 customers within the 13.5 square mile city limits of Port Angeles.

Under general direction of the Deputy Director of Operations, the Light Operations Manager directs and coordinates the field construction and maintenance of the city's substations, transmission and distribution systems. The Light Operations Manager supervises the Light Operations Division, including the Line crews, Warehouse/Storekeeper, Meter Shop, Maintenance Technician, and electrical inspection.

Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a four-year degree in electrical engineering, or a closely related field. Candidates with a combination of journeyman in electrical related field, including management and supervisory experience, will be considered. Experience: Five years of increasingly responsible experience as an administrator or in field operations in a public or private electrical utility, including two years experience in a management or supervisory capacity. Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates must have computer knowledge and proficiency with a variety of computer applications, and ability to learn new computer applications.
