DESCRIPTOR BASED 4 –YEARCOLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY ARTICULATION UPDATE
  • The 4-year descriptor-based articulation is NOW available on the C-ID website under the Articulation Officer tab
  • This matrix will be updated twice a month
  • At present, the following CSU campus faculty have articulated with C-ID descriptors for Agriculture, Communication Studies, Geology, and/or Sociology: Channel Islands, Chico, Dominquez Hills, Fresno, Fullerton, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Northridge,Pomona and San Bernardino
  • Independent Colleges/Universities which have articulated with these descriptors include: NationalUniversity, WhittierCollege, and WilliamJessupUniversity
C-ID WEBSITE TECHNOLOGY UPDATE
  • The C-ID website has gone through many technology updates the past few weeks. Improvements include:
  • IDs and passwords only need to be entered once for CoRs submissions;
  • When a TCSU number is inserted on the COURSE REVIEW page, you will be instructed that no additional course information is necessary;
  • There is an added capability to delete or update a course;
  • You may enter more than one course for a descriptor.
/ CoR REVIEWPROCESS
  • Over 30 CCCs have submitted 800 + CoRs
  • Faculty Review Discipline Groups (FDRGs) are presently being updated on the new and improved technology structure for course reviews
  • We appreciate your patience!
  • Additional FDRG members are needed to participate in the CoR process in all the disciplines for which there are finalized descriptors. Encourage your faculty to contact the C-ID office
DIG(Discipline Input Group)SESSIONS ENJOY STRONG FACULTY PARTICIPATION
  • Over 200 faculty participated February 25, 2011 in San Jose at the Northern DIG
  • A big thanks to the 3 CSU and 10 CCC Articulation Officers that participated in the Northern DIG and helped in moving the following disciplines forward in the C-ID descriptor development process:Business, Accounting, Studio Art, English, Economics, Computer Systems/ Information Systems, Political Science, Music, and Math.
  • Liberal Studies faculty also met and identified course descriptors needed for the Liberal Studies major.
  • At the Northern DIG faculty developed the following draft descriptors & TMCs:

  • Accounting (2)
  • Teacher Prep – TMC
  • Music (8) + TMC
  • Economics (2) + TMC
  • English (14) + TMC
  • Math (4)
  • Studio Art (15) + TMC Registration for theSOUTH DIG March 11 is closed. Over 300 faculty have registered.

  • Descriptor postings are changing daily; please ask your faculty to
visit and sign up for their discipline listservs to ensure they receive information to participate in thedevelopment and vetting of degrees in their field.
