Bid Package 9E – Paint & Wall Covering

The successful Subcontractor acknowledges and agrees to the requirements set forth by this bid package and its descriptions and in conjunction with all other Construction Documents, as required to provide, furnish, install, and/or maintain all items necessary for a complete scope of work as listed below. The scope of work shall be inclusive of, but not limited to the following specifications, information, and requirements:

I)  Specifications

c)  96145 Concrete Flooring Sealer

d)  97200 Wallcovering

e)  99113 Exterior Painting

f)  99123 Interior Painting

g)  99400 Decorative Finishes

h)  321723 Pavement Markings

The successful Subcontractor is responsible for all specification Divisions and Sections included within the Construction Documents as required to provide a complete scope of work for this project. The individual Divisions and Sections listed above are provided as a courtesy only.

II)  Scope Specific Items:

1)  Interior and exterior painting.

2)  Interior and exterior specialty coatings, epoxy, and special finishes.

3)  Concrete sealer on slabs.

4)  Wood wall covering, Vinyl wall covering, fabric wall covering, borders and other wall coverings.

5)  Stretched fabric wall systems (specification section 097713) are by others.

6)  Decorative Finishes

7)  Pavement markings

8)  Painting of ceiling space at cloud ceiling locations.

9)  Stain and finishing of millwork/casework, wood trim and wood doors not furnished pre-finished.

10)  Painting of exposed mechanical, electrical, plumbing and sprinkler work as required.

11)  Surface preparation as necessary for painting and wall coverings.

12)  Include caulking of all hollow metal door and window frames, wall joints, finish intersections with paint and/or wall covering to dissimilar surfaces or each other, interior window frames at the head, jamb and sills.

13)  Finish coats of paint are to be roller applied after installation of ceiling systems, millwork and doors.

14)  Final painting of hollow metal door and window frames is to be after completion of all other interior finishes. Include costs for “punchlist” painting on door and window frames.

15)  Remove hollow metal window stops prior to glass installation and paint stops on three sides. Reinstall window stops before glass installation. Touch-up paint on window stops and screws after glass installation.

16)  Painting of stairway walls, rails and stairs is to be at the completion stage of the project. Include touch-up of base coats of paint before application of finish coat of paint.

17)  Provide necessary task lighting required for the Work. The temporary lighting provided by Skanska shall not be solely relied on by this subcontractor to be sufficient for the installation of finishes.

18)  Coordinate the application of potentially hazardous materials with Skanska. Materials such as epoxy coatings may require special exhausting of fumes and removal of other trades from the work area. All temporary ventilation is the responsibility of this subcontractor.

19)  Legally dispose of all potentially hazardous materials and containers of such materials. Do not dispose of potentially hazardous materials or containers in trash dumpsters provided by Skanska.

20)  Storage of paint and painting supplies will not be allowed in the buildings. Paint storage containers are to be provided by this subcontractor. Storage containers must have adequate ventilation and fire extinguisher(s) in each storage container.
