Job Description- OTCExecutive Director

A.Nature of the Position

The Executive Director for Ohio Technical Centers (OTC)has the responsibility of working with the Adult Education Directors and community to develop:

  1. A consistent approach to leadership development
  2. Strategic partnerships and connections
  3. Advising on state/federal legislativeissues
B.Authority – Responsibility

The Executive Director for OTCshall be employed to carry out the principal duties assigned to the position. The Executive Director shall report to the Executive Director ofOhio Associatation of Career-Technical Superintendents (OACTS) and align activities with annual goals.

  1. Principal Duties (Essential):
  1. Professional Development Planning and implementation of same for new and continuing Adult Education Directors.
  1. Leadership Development to create a pool of individuals interested in becoming adult education leaders and administrators.
  1. Strategic partnerships and connections including but not limited to the Ohio Department of Higher Education, accreditation agencies, state agencies impacting adult education initiatives, etc.
  1. Advising on state/federal legislative issues.
  1. Work with the Postsecondary Adult and Continuing Education (PACE) organization and its executive committee to align association needs with initiatives critical not only to adult education but also with overall career and technical education issues.
  1. Work with PACE executive committee to develop a vision and strategic plan for the organization.
  1. Submit an annual budget for Association initiatives and activities.
  1. Coordinates activities and initiatives with the (OACTS) Executive Director.
  1. Provide input and guidance into the annual PACE conference.

D.Qualifications

The minimum qualifications for the OTC Executive Director are as follows:

  1. Adult Education administrative experience
  2. Ability to facilitate group discussion and planning
  3. Leadership skill
  4. Passion for adult education
  5. Connections with local and state groups of influence
  6. Demonstrated ability to develop strategic relationships
  7. Excellent oral and written communication skills
  8. Budgetary management skills
E.Employment terms

The position is part time (400 hours/year) and paid as an hourly independent consultant. Approved expenses are reimbursed.
