WAYS OF WORKING

Core purpose:

To promote and secure learning centred leadership within the school which impacts upon the achievement and attainment of all pupils.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Confidence in learning centred leadership which is evidenced through modelling, monitoring and dialogue.
  • Build leadership capacity within the Senior Leadership Team.
  • To achieve the identified pupil targets across the school.
  • To establish clear roles, responsibilities and accountabilities within the leadership team which enables sustainable improvements in learning.

Schools need to commit to:

  • A regular pattern of meetings with the SLs and to follow agreed protocols.
  • A coaching, mentoring approach to supporting the development of the leadership team.
  • To sharing their school data as an aid to identifying the agenda for improvement.
  • An allocation of time for the Senior Leadership Team to exercise their roles and responsibilities in relation to learning centred leadership.
  • An agreed, negotiated action plan and to report regularly on outcomes.

SPNTSA SLs will commit to:

  • A regular pattern of meetings with the partner school and to follow agreed protocols.
  • Communicating with the LA Lead Adviser that the visits have taken place on the agreed proforma.
  • Modelling good leadership practice and when appropriate extending the modelling to using their own school.
  • Having clear understanding of the various support strands within the school.
  • Completing CONTRACTS, RECORDS OF VISITS and EXIT FORMS and sending copies to the TS and LA since with the ever increasing sums of public money being diverted to schools to provide support there needs to be a clear audit trail.
